Oh dear, just seen on sky that when Rooney took over Brum they were 6th Now they are 20th hahaha a class manager. Maybe we should see if he’ll come to manage us soon
I do see his point here in that he's working with players of whom he didn't sign a single one (he joined in October) so he hasn't even had a single transfer window to sign players to play the way he wants to play.
But on the flip side of that is the fact they were 6th when he took over, so the players were doing well enough before he came in.
A bizarre saga, that will surely end Rooney's managerial career in this country
If someone had appointed him straight after Derby it would have made a bit of sense - he did OK there in difficult circumstances (though I think it's overstated how well he did and how noble he was staying at a financially struggling club on his massive wages).
But given he failed in the MLS since then and most importantly that Birmingham were going well - mad.
Crazy to hire him in the first place but interesting to see the decision makers there realising their error and taking decisive action, over to our lot.......

Even his Derby period looks less impressive now, as it seems that Liam Rosenior his coach was a key part of that success, seeing how well he's done at Hull.
