Thousands of fans from two clubs took to the streets today I something pretty unique. Despite that, there was very little wider interest in that and tonight / tomorrow you would have heard nothing about it.
Tonight though, pigs flying at Charlton is headline news on Sky, BBC, Football 5, Talksport, 606, Guardian and every single newspaper in this country. It's a highlighted article in the Irish Independent and the Scottish Daily Record. And it will be covered tonight / tomorrow on news in Belgium, USA, Canada, Australia etc.
Once again for a headline organised protest, no one got hurt, no one got arrested, yet huge coverage / awareness has been gained. A proportionate protest that delayed a game for a few minutes and created massive headlines.
We can't force Roland to sell or Katrien to leave. But we can make their screw up of our club worldwide news.
I agree with you I was wrong. Listening to the match I thought the CARD protest was proportionate and very well timed and I thank the organisers and the participants - well done.
My main worry is the possible split in our support and I have no idea if that was so today.
Well that's very gracious of you to say so.
I would say that although there were at a guess, only about 8,000 Charlton fans actually there today, as with last season, the vast majority stood up on numerous occasions, to chant, "we want Roland out."
This was exactly the same as last season, just less fans there.
Personally, I didn't see or hear one dissenting voice to the protests in the Upper North (obviously there would have been some somewhere).

And our team won. Again :-)

All the best, they will sell up sooner or later.
