If the demo is anything to go by - Valkyrie looks decent.

There's a Star Trek game next year that has massive potential
  • I don't know if this is the right thread to post in but I wondered if any Lifers have any PS4 game recommendations. Quite bored of my current batch and looking for a cheap pickup when I trade some old games in.

    For context, I already own:

    Madden
    Resident Evil
    Battlefield
    Killzone
    Pro Evo
    NBA
    Battlefront
    Last of Us
    God of War (remastered)

I had GTA V on PS3 and am tempted to go back to that. Toying with the idea of an Assassin's Creed game as it's a long time since I played one of those and I always enjoyed them (not sure on Syndicate or Black Flag), Skyrim, Batman: Arkham Knight, Fallout 4 or Far Cry 4.

Bit of a ramble I know but all opinions welcome.
  • At the moment, I can't stop playing Friday the 13th. It's online only and now the servers are actually working, it's a right laugh, especially if people have microphones.

Can recommend far cry 4 and primal, and can't got wrong with gta v. You must try horizon: zero dawn as well. Game of the year so far
  • Horizon Zero Dawn is must
If you didnt play the original one but like RPGs then Skyrim Remastered
The Witcher 3 is also a must in my eyes, will be cheaper now too
Black Flag is good for the piracy and the ship battles, Syndicate is a stronger story and its pretty cool galavanting around Victorian London
  • Little nightmares. Not played it just seen it on youtube, looks good.

am looking for some advice on PS VR headset from the CL gamer community please.

I want to know what I need to play Battlefront 1 on the ps4, essentially me and the little fella want to play in the same room with our ps4s but not have to have 2 big tvs, so I thought VR might be the answer as splitscreen is quite limited and more so nowadays. Which headset do I need to begin with, I'm assuming I can just use that and a normal controller - don't need camera and move controller etc?

Not even sure if VR works in the game other than the one VR mission..

    Cheers in advance

Just off the top of my head the witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are must plays. Until Dawn is also fun albeit very short.

Edit: just realised I've replied to a comment from 2 and a half years ago. #HavingACeddy

I believe there is only one mission you can play in VR and I'm about 95% certain you'll need the camera as it's used to track the headset. Normal controller I would assume is fine. How all that works with split screen I'm not sure, but I suspect it won't be a case of one you gets the VR headset and the other gets the TV if that's what you was after.
  • As above says you will have one of you on VR headset & one on tv , the one with VR you will need the camera but for battlefront not the move controller, it’s a good solution for what u need & apart from the one VR level the person with the headset plays the rest of the game on a cinema size screen.
i got a good deal Black Friday so took the jump & personally I think it’s awesome for movies, gaming, sport, you tube PSVR etc there are a lot of apps & experiences other than games & they are a lot cheaper than regular games so all in all I think it’s a great buy .
  • hadn't considered playing from one console, was going to use two, but if that works even better.. I believe the answer to the headset in normal non game play is use cinematic mode where you can play normal games but not with 3d vr effects - so it does substitute for a TV.
  • You will need two PS4’s, the one with VR does not need a tv & you can use it for VR games or just as a massive tv screen in cinimatic mode for any dvds , Netflix etc

so it can't replace split screen mode off the one console?
  • It definitely is just the one mission, but it is pretty fun at that.

Really looking forward to seeing PS5 VR capabilities.

  • I wouldn’t have thought so as once the headset is plugged into the PS4 it’s automatically in VR mode but not owning battlefront myself I couldn’t b 100% best ask developer support from whoever makes it. VR will transform how you use your PS4!
