It's obviously been discussed in part on other threads but from what I can see hasn't got its own. How far do you read in to him being at the game on Saturday? Already lined up for Slade's inevitable sacking, in the coming days perhaps. Or perhaps even to unsettle Slade a bit to avoid paying him out if he were to resign.

Edit: just realised this is in Charlton international, probably did it by mistake. Don't know if any mods want to change it.

    RD all over. If Slade goes what proven British based manager (for a club of our size) would want the job? He can go for the British network manager instead. Of course usual few will see nothing wrong with the appointment either.

    To be honest, if they were to sack Slade and appoint him, it would be another example of the incompetence. Yes they may spin it as 'we gave you an English manager' etc, but trust me an 8th appointment in just under 3 years would very much play into our hands re: how they are perceived in the wider footballing world.

    I believe their credibility is shot in the English game as it is. Unfortunately if Slade doesn't work out, yet another nail/own goal by our clueless CEO

    If the same person has chosen 7 managers in under 3 years, does that not obviously show the person who is selecting them does not have a clue to whom a good manager is.

    Yes, he was officially employed a few weeks later but the two events weren't connected.

    I imagine he just blagged his way in to the directors box and somehow got given the seat 1 along from Murray. Pure coincidence.

    With all the coverage from Jim White this could be a massive own goal for them if they do appoint him, will no doubt be pursued to the end of the earth by the press. They're already demanding answers.

    Slade is safe now, the performances may not have been great, but 8 points in 4 matches isn't "sackable" form when the guy has a 3 year contract to be paid up!

    Next week is a bit of a banana skin for him though - League leaders at home, albeit in a Cup tie, nonsense away match against League Two outfit and then a match that shouldn't be on with potentially four players missing.

    Peeters was slightly unlucky, but a poor run of results, plus "rumours" that things weren't right behind the scenes meant that there wasn't much anger here at his actual sacking

    That came later when Daisy interviewed 20 candidates in 15 minutes and appointed Luzon :smile:
    And it soon became obvious he was the stand out candidate! More bare faced lies....
