Surely the email to Powell about the Wigan game was written by Thomas Driesen and then sent by RD as if he had written it. Does anybody believe RD even knows what 4-4-2 means?
I think we can assume they are, otherwise a very hefty lawsuit is coming his way.
Not sure where these came from but would it not breach a contract if you leave a company and then publish emails? Especially if you're not the sender or recipient? That aside, the content is remarkable and show Chris Powell for the dignified legend that he is. If the club had any sense they would deny the legitimacy of these or claim that they are true but since then they realise the folly of interfering. But of course they have gone no comment! Mugs.
Interesting to hear the mess we were in before RD purchased the club. Suppose we should be grateful that he did, but really from then on his & KM's involvement things have gome from bad to worse. Gotta feel for all the players, managers and staff who for no fault of theirs have got involved in what our club has become - A CIRCUS. Great work by Jimmy, can't wait for parts 3 & 4.
Circus!....... funny you should say that, did a graphic based on that which I use on my flikr account as the banner heading.
Daily Fail's coverage as piss poor as always, hasn't bothered to get CARD's title correct and in copying great tranches straight out of the emails manages to get bits of it wrong. I suppose ANY EXPOSURE IS WORTH HAVING EVEN IF IT IS BY A SLAPDASH CRETINOUS ORGAN /blockquote>
It was said in that interview that there weren't owners queuing up to buy Charlton when the Belgium turned up. I wonder if we would have any takers if he left?. Scary precarious stuff

That was bull. I can't remember the exact stats but rememer posting them up at the time about how many parties were interested in Championship Clubs (we were at the time) - and even more so a London Club with the location we do - any business man knows thats a positive.
Even now parties are still interested in taking us, but the fact is Roland doesn't want us to know that and will want to be seen as our saviour. He will put the price too high, load us with debt.. But yes, definitely scary precarious stuff!

Ok thanks you obviously know far more about it then me.Keep up the good fight.

It reads to me like the technical part of the email was written by Little Tommy for Duchatelet and then cut and pasted by RD. What would be a reasonable level of technical advice to a non-football man like RD comes over as patronising and insulting when the recipient is a real pro football man. It would do, even if the sender was Sir Alex F. But that's a consequence of RD's approach: he only ever has 1.5% of his time for the club, but he was determined to lean on Powell.
The arrogance of lecturing a pro about the strengths and weaknesses of English football based on Little Tommy watching one game on video (Wigan 1-2 Zulte in the Europa League a few weeks before RD bought CAFC) would be breathtaking coming from anyone else.

Duchatelet doesn't even know what a centre half is.

Paul Elliot's consortium offered RD ALL his money back & he would not even talk to him.
In my opinion this could be the first of a series of "knockout blows" for the current regime.
The club will have to make a statement about this.. thing is they are in a impossible position to do so as they do not have a leg to stand on.
If only that were the case, however they just don't give a shit
Re the club having to make a statement, I think we said the same about roger Johnson when he gobbed off to the fans. And that was ignored (unless I missed something).

Was feeling a bit downhearted but it's given me some motivation - we have to get them out.
Why us, ffs, why us?
Good to see this has given you a lift, I know you've been one of the people that has put a great deal of personal effort in, so this is an encouraging post.
My thoughts on our owners are that even when people may be feeling like momentum is faltering, when hope fading, just remember they are utterly, utterly incompetent.
I said on another thread about a saying my mate told me when speaking to a personal trainer, you can't out exercise a bad diet. The same is true of our numpties that own and run the club. Their incompetence will always triumph over anything else they try.
That's why although many of you have shown some signs of having spirits lifted with the appointment of KR (and I respect those that want to take that positive approach). Just remember anything or anyone under this regime will be infected by their touch of death and they are so deadly, they'll eventually destroy themselves.
Everything that happens between now and then will be pretty shit, but I truly believe we have to go very low to get a springboard up again
Just listened to both episodes, brilliant work to track down those interviewed and put it all together.
Was also interesting to hear more about what went on after the promotion season. Not everything was new but it's so different hearing it from those affected by it all.
This is fantastic (but also sad) and proves what we've thought for a long time. Jimmy has done a sterling job and it's so professional- I'd compare it to a panorama piece.
Surely the greater media have to run with this and after the next parts come out it won't be long before the wheels actually fall off.
Due diligence was done in a week. Yep, can you believe that ?? The septics had done d.d. and then pulled out over the asking price, possibly unconvinced by the club's figures, who knows. Never mind - within a few days another prospect turned up. As I've said before, this new guy then buys no fewer than three clubs over the Xmas/NY period, none of them in his native and familiar Belgium - so just how in hell did he manage that, especially over the holidays ?? Well, now we know what happened at CAFC - one week to check the books !! Amazing !! And when pitch failure caused the first home match to be called off the club said absolutely nothing. Who wouldn't be raging mad that a club they had just bought for a fair sum of money couldn't even host a game ??
Our billionaire owner is said to drive an oldish family motorcar and likes d.i.y, washing-up and shoes mended with tape. He is notoriously what in Dutch is called a centeneuker - a pennyf*****r. The due diligence story now confirms his wholly inexplicable and uncharacteristic behaviour when acquiring CAFC. Oh yes, he sure did buy the wrong club - but WHY OH WHY ???????
I've just emailed both the club and a series of contacts and email addresses I could find associated with Melexis
Dear Roland,
In light of the emails that have come into the public domain today regarding your instruction to Chris Powell when he was manager of Charlton Athletic, I felt it only fair to offer my advice and thoughts on my time spent studying Melexis, and how we can build on the success of such a great company in what is a very competitive marketplace.
First of all, may I ask if you have considered utilising any practices associated with the Kaizen model of running a manufacturing company? I believe it was developed by the great Japanese manufacturers, the Hondas etc and slowly made its way over to Europe.
Operational efficiency is key. We must avoid bottlenecks. Given today's digital factories and 3D printing, there are numerous threats to wastage in the semi conductor sector. What are your thoughts on these threats? We could set up a conference call between myself, your Head of Manufacturing, you and Thomas Driesen to brainstorm.
Thomas has demonstrated a keen eye for advanced thinking in football for someone of such a young age, perhaps you should consider letting him have a pop at running some of your manufacturing plants. If that is, you think he's of sound character and could be given this chance to see if his skills are transferable. You see him more often than I, so I will leave that up to you.
Paint the factories you own pink. Serve Moussaka on Tuesdays but bulk it up with mushrooms as this will save money on the meat content. The price of food is rising, we need to be cost conscious.
What sort of hours are the employees working? Flexible working is quite popular as a tool for being considered an employer of choice, but people can go too far and take liberties. Draw up a plan, send it to me and I will send it back with my thoughts.
Finally the next new semi conductor we produce must be called the Anil Koc. This will give it brand recognition and connect with buyers on an emotional level.
