Hearing O 'Loughlin will be managers assistant

    Nobby Vinegar it is then
Thats how I see it large.
  • Not Gary Caldwell, dear God.

Aged 32. Younger than his own captain - who is already crocked.

Adkins would be good. Serious spectacles. A thinking man. Took Southampton from League One to the Prem while Chris Powell was playing one up front at The Valley.

Jackson & Euell? Oh no. They are part of the problem, not the solution.

Why do people like Caldwell as a choice? I know nothing about the man beyond who he played for and that he didn't succeed at Wigan - what's the deal here?

How do you class winning league one as not succeeding?
Sorry, my bad - for some reason I got them mixed up. As you were.
  • Did they try to force COL on Slade and he said No and was then sacked?
  • Nugent will probably do well for 2 /3 games and get given the job... then fail... then round we go again

  • As many others have said it's pretty clear that COL is being primed as our future manager. When number 8 (or is it 9) is sacked before the start of next season, then COL will step up.

It's more likely that he won't do well and get given the job.
  • J.F.H is looking very likely
  • Please not J.F.H
  • Hearing JFH or Caldwell Olock assistant
  • I'd take Hasselbaink. Did wonders with Burton. It's hard to expect anyone to do well with QPR.
  • Female manager? KM - fans only unhappy because female in charge, results are poor because the fans do not give her support (assuming she didn't smash the league with the wondrous resources our managers get bestowed upon them).

    Hope Powell would be ideal.

The fans wanted Powell so we gave them Powell
" The fans wanted Fanny so we gave them Fanny ".......

Surely I'd be an improvement on Carol Fry !

    JFH makes sense

    Speaks Dutch,

Maybe less concerned about having his coaches appointed for him as that is more typical in mainland Europe.

Has managed at this level with some success (although he took over a stable club from Gary Rowett he still did well with them the next season)

    Also managed in Belgium
  • We are going to have more managers than there has been Doctor Who. Do they regenerate in the board room as a different manager?

Or Charlton! Corrected that for you.
  • Hasslebank has said he wants a rest from football. The last thing he needs is a club like ours.

Absolutely no chance he will sign for us.
  • Just seen this on twitter-:
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink taking time out after QPR sacking. No interest in the Charlton job #cafc
  • The experiment with managers will soon be declared a failure, KM will make a song and dance about learning from their mistakes and appoint the senior coach as Head Coach.

Jimmy Floyd FatThighs - no chance.
  • If they had wanted a British based manager they would have done so already as their are plenty around and the ridicule must have got through to them to some extent.
  • How is this thread 9 pages long with no pic of Appleton!

    Not convinced by this:

"However, Standard Sport understands that the main reason he lost his post was not due to results but because the owners were not happy with the style of football."

Would think style of play is one of the last things KM/RD care about.

On the contrary, when RD suddenly got shot of Vukomanovic, the 2pts-a-game caretaker at Standard Liege, the stated reason was because they didn't like his style of football. (That gave Riga his 2nd shot at Liege.)
