He seems to have an awful lot of time for interviews within and outside of the Club.. no time for the fans as of yet. If he really wanted to understand, he'd go out and do so - or invite some fans to the training ground rather than go out to them. Where there's a will, there's a way - and if you really want something as easily achievable as this; you will go get it and not make excuses.
I'm sure he cares about us, but the blindness to signing up and taking Roland and Katriens' side and word despite evidence contradicting everything they say and do being available with the click of a mouse, this tells me a different story about his care of why we are protesting.29 -

Seems to me he has learnt quickly from Nightmare and the SMT, wouldn't know the truth if it slapped him in the face.3

No reason for him to meet and talk to us about the protests in my opinion. His error is not that he hasn't yet it is that he stated he would do at all.
Go to some fan group meetings like other managers have done, he would hear all about it in the round of a general meeting.
but I really don't see the point in him going out to meet fans to specifically understand the protests - what would it achieve? He is hardly likely to come out of a meeting and publicly back the fans against his employers so whatever he said the fans will pick holes in. It is a lose lose situation and a stupid one for him to get himself into.10 -

I see it a bit differently. Meeting fans to discuss what we are protesting about would demonstrate that he is interested in knowing both sides of the story, whereas at present all he would have heard is the regime's views and what he would have picked up in the media. He wouldn't be expected to "pronounce" an opinion but would gain some respect for ensuring that his private opinion was well founded - one way or the other. From the regime's point of view, if they want him to heal the divide between the club and it's fans it is very important that he is seen by the fans as someone who understands and empathises with their concerns, even if ultimately he doesn't agree with all of them.Athletico Charlton said:No reason for him to meet and talk to us about the protests in my opinion. Also, he does seem to love an interview and I suspect if he was made of chocolate he'd eat himself, but just because two weeks into the job he hasn't been able to meet with fans in a formal setting doesn't mean he should be condemned. This is the busiest time of year for football, as we all know. And this is about the long game, and getting him to understand a large and complex mosaic of events and feelings.
I agree he should have responded directly to the Trust. And if we're still having this conversation in a month's time after hearing for a month "yes I'd love to meet the fans" then yes, knives should come out. But these things can't necessarily happen overnight.2 -

Dunno why but he has won me over already in interviews etc just hearing his enthusiasm. Of course he may be just good at telling punters what they want to hear but I really want him to succeed.
I think chemistry with a club can make a big difference and he seems to have it here. Feel more upbeat about his appointment than any other manager since Powell and probably after CP in terms of the post Curbs days.
Hopefully he can do the business on the pitch and move us onwards and upwards and get a bit of feel good factor and unity amongst the fanbase again. Would like the owners to give him a fair crack of the whip in terms of time and backing but that will remain to be seen.
Never really knew much about KR before he rocked up beyond a young manager who seemed to have had relative success at MKD but I like the cut of his jib. He seems do be adept at navigating the politics of the situation at CAFC and diplomatic whilst confronting the fact there are issues rather than ignoring it like predecessors. They may have got it right this time but too early to tell and rest of this season and (hopefully) the next one will show if he is the right man for us once the honeymoon period is over.
I can imagine he will motivate the players a lot and instil a lot of fight so am being optimistic and think we can push on under him if he gets the right support. 3 points tomorrow and Wednesday would be an epic step in the right direction.

I know many people who are good company on a night out and talk a good game but I wouldn't want them managed CAFC.0

Actually on a more serious note he should get January out of the way, because it would provide some comparison material that might inform any chat.
The Keohane/Miere/Rubashow/Pitch PR/New Positive Fan Group propaganda (?) campaign is kicking in and I suspect that once again there will be a kind of 2% mindset towards disaffected fans, and Karl may well be instructed not to bother.
Anything that does take place is likely to be subject to strict controls.7 -
I really can't see the point of Robinson meeting the fans. I'd rather he got on with the job of managing and coaching the team, spending what little time left scouting the opposition and potential transfer targets. What outcome could be achieved with a meeting, there is enough on line if he is interested as to why there are protests. And it's not as he's suddenly going to say "Oh shit, Roly and Kat are clueless aren't they" he'd loose his job.
