I also have a nice little black leather passport holder which is embossed "With the compliments of the City of Helsinki". It was given to me by my new found Finnish mate in 1979 when I visited him while on InterRail. Without fail I have used it on every single international journey since, bar one. I was worried I might have lost it when I left it on the boarding gate desk at Prague but the BA stewardess went back and retrieved it for me. I was ridiculously happy about that. The "bar one" was when I went to Berlin in April testing Schengen and using only my Czech resident pass. It caused a hassle. Never again.
