I was raised in Charlton in the late 50s and my introduction to cricket was the annual 3 day championship game, Kent v Surrey at Blackheath. A poor side in late 50s/early 60s soon developed into a very successful trophy winning team. Names such as Knott/Underwood/Asif/Shepherd stirred my blood and I enjoyed a number of one day finals at Lords: those were the days!
Cue forward to 1990, Kent cricket was average and together with a work related relocation saw me living in the Midlands and my desire and opportunities to watch Kent waned. Cue forward again to now. I am really excited with the start Kent have made this season and I am about to set off for a 300 mile return journey to Canterbury; my first visit to the St Lawrence Ground for about 8 years.
Just needs CAFC similar fortunes next season and I will be a very, very happy man.

A great partnership though, and plenty of time to bowl Derbyshire out
Best ever innings of 83* by Rouse and Harris 31* for a partnership of 78
Definitely the strongest batting side, in terms of depth, I think we have ever had - our number 10 and 11 both average 22 in First Class Cricket.
Feel really sorry for Rousey.
Still 408 lead.
Good knock by the keeper though, how does his work with the gloves compare with that of Billings? Could you play Billings just as a batsman?
