Didn't see this posted elsewhere. He seems to think his time at Charlton has some similarities to Payet's situation at West Ham. Interesting read but I don't profess to know what the truth of it is.

    I remember at Blackburn away, which must have been one of his last matches for us, he warmed up before the game on his own in the centre circle with the other players over by the goal.

    It was Danny Mills who got himself deliberately sent off against Hull.....and it was Dec 22nd just before Christmas in order he could have Christmas and New Year with his family.
    He honestly didn't give a shit, as he was going back to his loan club (Man City) in early January anyway.
    As a consequence, he never took part in any other games for us.
    He worked it out to perfection..............the slippery fucker!

    Different incident. Danny Murphy did indeed get himself sent off against Arsenal on Boxing day. Danny Mills was against Hull just before Xmas.

    Not quite true, he chose us over Spurs when he came to us. We had consistently out performed Spurs in previous season. What got him was we were not a fashionable club and his wife complained she was not getting invites to premiers and the like. Our midfield three including Kishorn and Murphy were outstanding, but we dipped in form and Murphy decided we were too small for his ageing talents. Believe he also complained how low our away following was. Off the field he played Mr Big Bollocks.

    Re his sending off against Arsenal on Boxing Day, he was on a yellow card when the ref gave Arsenal a free kick, Murphy had the ball in his hands and threw it down angrily.

    The ref construed this to be dissent so gave him a second yellow, don't think Murphy played again.

    He the perfect example of the "never wrong" footballer. A bit like Joey Barton and a few others they are never to blame in their own mind. Would love to hear Curbs point of view on this saga. Gut feeling is it would differ quite a bit

    To be fair, you can't really have a go at him for that - very fair point especially considering our home gates at the time!

    Was that thought of as deliberate? I don't remember having heard that before, whereas the Mills affair was pretty obviously contrived.
    Mills second yellow was for verbal to the ref.....so easy to do and a sure certainty to pick up a second yellow, together with the inevitable red.
