Different gravy this man......a superb actor and raconteur. As a nation we are justifiably very proud of him, a quintessentially British talent of the very first order. RIP Sir John.....RIP.
Having lost a dear family member to pancreatic cancer 18 months ago, can say it's a dreadful disease but he carried on working. A brave as well as talented man. R.I.P. John
Whenever he was in anything it was elevated. So many good pieces of work on all platforms, I Cladius, Alan Clarke's diaries, Quentin Crisp, it goes on and on. Will be missed. RIP John Hurt.

From Alien to Doctor Who, I thought he was magnificent in every role I saw him in.
Wherever actors go when they finally exeunt stage left, they could put on quite a show with the talent we've lost these past twelve months.
