Courtesy of @callowendaddick: Did anyone see Pointless last night when a number of pictures were shown of individuals who had won the FA cup as a manager and a player?. They included Arteta, Terry Venables and others including Jimmy Seed. Although most of us oldies knew that he won the cup with Charlton in 1947 he also won in 1921 as a player with Spurs. Needless to say it was a pointless answer.
Not a question, but a statement on a quiz show. Bradley Walsh just said on The Chase (repeat on Challenge) that he knew his Brentford career was over when his team lost 6-0 to Charlton. Not sure what level this was at.

It was bad enough to be watching The Wheel last night and then my misery was compounded by a round where the 7 celebs each had to name a London football team in the 92. Both Millwall and Palace got named as did QPR. We did not.
We were an answer on quiz of the day today. A quiz me and my family do (and share scores) daily via WhatsApp since Covid. https://quizoftheday.co.uk/ (if you want to play todays 4/11) you can go into archive.

5-0, League Cup 1980
And I was there. Paul Walsh hat trick on his debut or if not one of his earliest games.

Nope. He didn't play in that game - he never played a first team game for Brentford.
I believe the story is about a reserve game, if it's true at all.

My recollection of reserve games from 40 years ago is a bit patchy, but to be fair Brad's always been pretty straight about his career at Brentford ending before it started, unlike Gordon Ramsay and accounts of his Rangers "career".

Name a club that has won a Women's FA cup. Charlton was a pointless answer as well as Croydon.
Or the unfathomable 1/4:2, 2/4:4 etc. as he was trying to squeeze in 888.
