I should be sharing tales of my afternoon at Glentoran but the weather did for us. No matter, a quick cross Belfast detour to Cliftonville....nope, called off not much more than an hour before kick off.
As we were leaving the pub having managed to find a bar with enough Sky clout to show our game at lunchtime we were asked by some lads where we were headed. It was some Huddersfield fans who had adopted Cliftonville as their second team. They told me Docherty's red was a joke the other week and that they thought we'd played well. They can see things lots of us can't.
Belfast is a cracking city though and we'll return in the near future. I'd recommend it for anyone who's not been.
Not the correct group for this post, but here goes.
Today was the last round of games here in Brazil, Botafogo in Rio last won the title in 1995, all they had to do was avoid defeat, they won 2-1 to make them champions.
Watching it in a pub and seeing the players celebrating with the fans at the ground was fantastic, wherever you are in the world a football fan can share the same emotions.
Before I left the boozer with my friend I went over and congratulated the Botafogo fan, I told him I was English and supported Charlton, he liked my tattoo! I told him to drink lots of beer and enjoy the night.
A little premature perhaps for this thread, but the site of what will be Inter Miami's ground. Previously a municipal gold course at the end of one of MIAs runways. I'd dare to suggest that the English rather than American version of football predominates here given the large Latino population. .
I've finally seen a game on every continent (no golf or parkrun on Antarctica so it doesn't count). My 3rd time in Africa but scheduling is always iffy here. In Morocco the top league plans 2 weeks in advance (the fixture, not just date/time). My game in the regional league was announced with 3 days' notice
So if you're in Marrakech, Mouloudia play at the edge of the centre. Division 2's Kawcab's stadium (the AFCON+WC one) is 11km out, though Kawcab currently play 100km away due to stadium renovations
Google has no info for Mouloudia, nor the other 2 Marrakech clubs Olympique and Ittifaq. I had to translate Mouloudia into Arabic, check their Facebook then translate back. They beat Tamnar Arkan 2-0 in front of maybe 250 people.

This is a cracking tick mate, you went to a lot of effort to get the game in. Any souvenirs?

Not a lot, although the press area is where the red umbrella is!
You're having a laugh, have you seen how big Brazil is?

Someone was so annoyed at half time that he got his prayer mat out.
