Personally I'd try Aribo as the left inside forward, Watt at 10 and Holmes on the right. Botaka to come on for the last 20.

    ..... Magennis
    Aribo Watt Holmes
    ........Crofts JFC
    Chicksen Tex Bauer Solly
    Rudd

Novak Konsa Jackson Ulvestad Novak Mavididi Botaka

Konsa was mom last match and is one of our very best players at the moment whereas Aribo had an average game IMO so it is he who I would drop to the bench.

I do agree that Homes would be better on the right though.
Agreed but I feel he could do with a rest. Also I think JFC is our best player. And whilst Konsa can play lots of positions he can't play on the left. Whereas Aribo can..
As it seems Mag is on the bench we may both be right.
  • No need to rush Mag back too quickly, especially as we have a lot of midweek games coming up.

happy to be adding to my list of 92 and expect a hard fought draw.

as an aside, once again I am happy to stick my colours to the mast of AFC Wimbledon not being the team that won the FA Cup in 1988. 2 things make this plainly obvious.

Firstly they were founded in 2002 - 14 years AFTER the FA cup final. So unless they have a DeLorean each..........

Secondly, The form their own team because they don't want to travel, and still decide not to play in Wimbledon !!!

I wrote a preview for the Trust this morning. Personally I'd leave Aribo on the bench, put Teixeira at CB and move Konsa into midfield.

It's starting to snow. It might not go ahead tomorrow. If it does go ahead 1-0 away win.

I'd be very keen to see how Watt does playing next to Magennis. I think it is a partnership we need to work and not playing them both will ensure it can't work.

once again we will need to match a tough team not just in skill and organisation but also in grit, determination and the will to win .. a k a bottle

I see in my cloudy crystal ball yet another low scoring (yawn) draw

Weather forecast I've just looked at days the temperature won't rise above 1 degree between now and 10am tomorrow morning. Chance of some rain later this evening and apparently their pitch is in a bit of a statue anyway - I would say postponement is a strong possibility.

I've been working outside all day and the ground is soft and muddy so a cold night shouldn't be a problem

Fair play. Yeah, maybe. I wonder if Ulvestad will be considered this time with Byrne out meaning we could have all the other loan players in the squad. I think Fred would have given us a different option off the bench against Fleetwood and didn't see the point of Dasilva being in the squad given Robinson evidently wasn't prepared to use him at left-back even after our only specialist LB went off. I'm not saying I'd have played Dasilva at LB (I'd have put Konsa there, as my preview implied), but just seemed to be a waste to include him in the 18 when KR even preferred to put a tired Tony Watt out on the left-wing ahead of him.

I think he views Desilva as a left sided mf who will be good enough to defend when the back overlaps which is fine when we are attacking but not when we are hanging on. Against Fleetwood he was running out of options and hoped JJ could do a job for 15 mins and given his experience I can understand his thinking. I too would have dropped Konsa back, but to rb and moved Solly across to lb.

To me it was bringing on Tex which was the mistake. Konsa had been solid up until then, and so yes, Freddie could have done a job. Watt at left back was embarrassing.

They are a quite a big team and the pitch is very poor so not a time for tippy tappy. I think Tex should start with Novak/Watt pairing up front with Josh on for the last ten minutes. Last week we were weak in the air so I hope KR thinks about this rather than expect us to play like Real Madrid. We are in the 3rd tier and the Don's will play long ball. I'll be biting my nails in the home end tomorrow.
