To those who say all should boycott Charlton FC, an argument against. If the same attitude had been taken when the team was moved from the valley to Selhurst under owners as bad as the current lot, who sold the best players at the end of every season. Then you would not have a club to boycott now.

Very true but if this lot aren't gone soon the club will not exist as we know it, either by their design or mismanagement. So if boycotting isn't the answer what is as we need to get them out.

The club was variously owned during its time at Selhurst Park. It was only fully owned by Fryer/Sunley from 1985-1988. The club sold players to keep going and eventually to help fund the return - Fryer wasn't interested in funding it further and the incoming owners (Norris/Alwen) didn't have the money.
Large numbers of people did boycott Selhurst, many for reasons of practicality. This is obscured by the fact the team was promoted to the old First Division, but the crowds were significantly lower than they would have been at The Valley 1986-90.
