Injury Update
Stephy Mavididi has returned to Arsenal after it was confirmed that the injury he sustained during Saturday's defeat to Bury will keep him out for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old forward impressed for the Addicks during his short time on loan from the Gunners, but a scan has revealed a torn hamstring that will see him sidelined for at least three months.
"He saw a specialist last night and he's set for an operation at the start of next week, but it will keep him out for between 14-16 weeks," explained Valley boss Karl Robinson.
"He's been in tears which is sickening because he's been tremendous for us and we wish him all the best.
"He'a been a credit to his family and to Arsenal FC and we'd love to have him back next year."
Meanwhile, a grade-two hamstring injury could keep Jake Forster-Caskey sidelined for as many as four weeks, while Harry Lennon has stepped up his rehabilitation from a groin injury and could return to training within the next four weeks.
Elsewhere, Adam Chicksen is set to return to training on Thursday after recovering from a ligament strain, but Roger Johnson has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after picking up an injury in training last month.

"but Roger Johnson has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after picking up an injury in training last month."
Ha, okay then.0 -
No mention of Pearce then, unless I'm imagining it I thought KR mentioned something in his post Shrew outburst
.
Edit; I've listened again to KRs I/V and it was his Scouse twang which I heard as Jase whereas he said Jake
. So no update on Pearce. 0 -
Let's hope that's the end of RoJo at Charlton another waste of time and money. He'll be remembered for his 'discussion' with fans earlier in the season....2

There was a pic of Johnson on crutches at bluewater on Facebook a few weeks ago.0

Is Rojo really 'injured' or it it a Lookman type niggle that kept him out before he was sold? Or maybe he told Jimmy a few home truths in his usual pleasant manner

Nothing to do with injuries, but the Johnson news (which I don't actually believe) has just got me thinking about our centre half situation.
We:
- Are paying for Johnson to see out his contract
- Are paying £12k a week for a complete fairy who doesn't want to be here.
- Are paying a subsidy for Naby Sarr's wages, on top of his hefty transfer fee.
- Gave Morro away for free to get him off the wage bill.
It's enough to make you cry, it really is.6 -
We need to dig our heels and not accepet anything less than £10m for Rojo.RedChaser said:Is Rojo really 'injured' or it it a Lookman type niggle that kept him out before he was sold? Or maybe he told Jimmy a few home truths in his usual pleasant manner

£10m is that all, we could always exercise the option to extend for another year that would have been written into the contract. No need to panic Katy's got it all under controlAddick Addict said:

This might help explain why he was at Bluewater!

Really bad news for Mavidid, hamstring injuries have the potential to ruin pacy players' careers and this sounds like a bad one.
Think we can assume RoJo isdown the pubon gardening leave.
At least Chicksen has been injured, which gives some justification as to why he has inexplicably been missing from the team in recent weeks.
Hope they give JFC the necessary time to properly rehabilitate and don't rush him back. Options in centre midfield look a bit limited again now though.0 -
“I don’t know about the injury to Patrick, but we’ll find out Monday.
“Tariqe Fosu will be back for Saturday, we hope. It was just a fatigue injury.”
Striker Stephy Mavididi was expected to be out for eight weeks - but could be back in four from now.
That's the news that boss Karl Robinson revealed today as Arsenal loanee Mavididi made the trip to sit behind the dugout to support the Addicks.
And good news too for fans is that Tariqe Fosu is expected back next week after suffering with nothing more than "fatigue" according to the boss.
"Stephy Mavididi was here watching," revealed Robinson.
"He was sat just behind us I see his little smug face.
"That just shows you a loan player who comes away from home to support the team.
"He said 'gaffer I've got a bit of good news, it's going really well'.
"So I had a little smile. If we can have Stephy Mavididi back in four or five weeks that's better than the eight that we thought.

That be awesome. Both are match winners. To get Stephy back soon would be huge.5

Fosu's season is over then unless we make the final0
-
About as good as we can expect. Hopefully Page continues to heal and Fosu gets stronger so that they're able to play in at least one of the playoff legs should we make it there.clive said:
The other big hope is that no new injuries were sustained on Saturday. I'd think that if anything serious happened it would be mentioned. But given the swing in results needed for us to finish outside the playoff places I wouldn't be surprised if one or two are rested just as a precaution.0 -
It is what it is. Just have to get on with it.4

I'd like to think there is a little gamesmanship going on here - like perhaps Fosu is a bit closer to full training than we are letting on. Fergie used to do stuff like it all the time, say a player would be out then come match day he'd be in the first team - anything for a tactical and psychological edge. (edit: for the play-offs not Rochdale obviously!)5

Frankly I don't want Fosu coming back early. It's pointless rushing him back, only for him to injure the hamstring again, as any further setback would rule him out of the playoffs fullstop.Manicmania said:I'd like to think there is a little gamesmanship going on here - like perhaps Fosu is a bit closer to full training than we are letting on. If needed in the second leg you could see him being used from the bench. Hopefully not needed though.1

Robinson used to do it too. With Fosu, it's hard for me to imagine a hamstring injury that would take less than 2-3 weeks. You're right, they absolutely could be fudging the numbers, it seems they've done it before, but even if they are the soonest I'd expect to see him is a week Thursday/Saturday. As killerandflash says, no point in risking him.Manicmania said:I'd like to think there is a little gamesmanship going on here - like perhaps Fosu is a bit closer to full training than we are letting on. I'm not talking about rushing anyone back, I'm talking about the possibility that the programme for his return is perhaps a week or 5 days ahead of what is being said - and perhaps always has been - or even that they purposely over-estimated/exaggerated the time-frame and he is actually bang on schedule for the play-offs. I wasn't suggesting we would play him on Saturday or anything!

Fosu did his hamstring against Portsmouth on the 21st April. Two weeks would take him to Saturday so there is an outside chance he could be back for playoffs or the final.SDAddick said:

Yeah I would hope he'd be back IF we reach the final. I think Bowyer said three weeks originally which would be Saturday the 12th, potentially the first leg of the playoffs. But I imagine it's all very fine margins at this point, a day here or there could be the difference between being involved in the playoffs and not.Redrobo said:

Along with 'At the end of the day' and 'With all due respect', is this the most pointless and annoying phrase in the English language?LargeAddick said:It is what it is. Just have to get on with it.
It's almost of 'PWR' proportions!3 -
No need to panic.
If gobinson was in charge he would use every excuse in the book.
Thankfully he ain't in charge.
Bowyer will just get on with it and we will be fine.
In Bowyer we trust.0 -
Just take each day as it comes...bazjonster said:
