That’s a great idea Bert! I will tell him that there are rumours that they’ve pulled out, but he’ll reply that they haven’t, and I’ll post that on here, and six people will like it, @clb74 will LOL it, and three people will reply telling me what I can do with it.bertpalmer said:
Get on the blower to GM then, its friday and he will be pissed and tell you everything...then report back here as instructedJamesSeed said:

Takeover thread has got so bad that Seed has defected back to smallwallJamesSeed said:No one wants us, we don’t care.
I was only half joking. It seems people keep looking in the shop window, but walk away after closer inspection.
Except the Aussies obviously.
(And yes of course we care)
Elfsborg won’t even believe it.
Why wouldn’t I!?0 -
I dare not like I might upset someoneJamesSeed said:

Mr Seed, you are the Aussies version of Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf...... albeit a very very nice version :-) (must be the Millwall links)JamesSeed said:
Nope. As I said, ‘ [Not inside info, just idle speculation on my part].‘bazjonster said:
So JS, what you're saying is that your supposed buddy, 'GM', has completely mugged you, and us, off all along?!JamesSeed said:My worry is that the Aussies may have been over ambitious, attempting to put together a consortium to raise enough funds to buy the club and to fund a genuine bid for Premier League football in five years. If one or more of the consortium had to to pull out, then perhaps it is been difficult to find a replacement because of the level of funding required. [Not inside info, just idle speculation on my part].
Whoever buys the club only needs to satisfy the EFL that they have funding in place to run the club for two years. Let’s hope these rumoured bidders have more than that.
Utter parody quite frankly0 -
Urgh it's so depressing. A takeover felt close, but now the Aussies have gone quiet, the club have gone quiet and despite rumours of other interest it now feels like we are back to square one. The only thing that I feel slightly happy about is that this must be pissing Roland off too. He has decided he wants out, yet despite some ridiculous cost cutting measures, he will still be losing money hand over fist. But, the longer he holds on, the harder it is on the club and the fans. Surely there must come a point when he realises that holding out for a more than optimistic figure is only going to cost him more money in the end?0

You'd think so but the worrying thing is RD's probably offsetting these losses against the rest of his profit making empire.WestCountryAddick said:Urgh it's so depressing. He will no doubt be feeling the sting of having to keep on pumping money in once the August window closes but if it's outweighed by an overall Staprix profit he'll probably hold on until he gets the price he wants.0 -
A loss is still a loss. Offsetting it against profits just reduces those profits.MartinCAFC said:

The real worrying thing is that he is too fucking inept to realise that by running our club the way he has been is devaluing it. His only assets are the ground and players and they'll be worth fuck all by the time he's finished with us. I'm just astounded by the incompetence.8 - Sponsored links:

I want to back this up adding that James has always been forthright about what he's been told (when he can), and that he is only getting one side of the story.IanJRO said:
Bit harsh. JS clearly stating this is his speculation rather than something he has been told. Even if it turned out to be true then plans can unravel. The only person mugging us off here is RD.bazjonster said:

Also, things change. It's really clear something changed earlier in the summer, seemingly (I'm not sure if we can call this confirmed or not) something to do with one of the investors and the EFL process. And that doesn't rule out that anything of what JS was told at any given time was true as far as his source could tell.
I think it's really, really important to remember that JS, NLA, or whomever are not the BBC. When they get something from a source, they can't ring up three or four other sources to try to get independent confirmation. I'm guessing it's pretty much all mono-sourced (maybe dual-sourced at best). And to be clear, that's not a knock on anyone, that's just the way things are. They are not journalistic institutions, and even if they were, an NDA being in place would make it hard in the best case scenario.
So just take what is said with that in mind: this is one person from one perspective on a deal that seemingly has a lot of perspectives and interests.21 -
IF (and it's a big IF) the deal has collapsed doesn't that mean the NDA will now be over?
Silver lining, we might actually hear what the hell actually happened. And also more confirmation of how much RD and RM are twats.1 -

@Airman Brown how much do you think we’ve saved on the playing budget from last season?1

I think the NDA would still apply regarding commercially sensitive information.cafcwill said:IF (and it's a big IF) the deal has collapsed doesn't that mean the NDA will now be over?

It would leak out, or their versions of events would leak out, if parties felt they wanted or needed to say something.
Remember the rubbish about Varney's group wanting to leave the Valley (one among hundreds of lies) that was spread to deflect criticism.4 -
Ok, just got back from 2 weeks holiday and volantary none use of the internet. Log back on to this thread 2.5k of new posts and still feck all's happened !!!
I reckon we're well and truly f*cked !!1 -
You could have just read the score from yesterday to save 2.5k posts to come to that conclusion.0

In League Two, CAFC would be worth half of what it is worth now and maybe less. RD is the very definition of "penny wise, pound foolish." If he had actually spent half of the £4M he probably received by selling players this last window (4 players @£500k each,) I think several buyers might have jumped at the chance to buy. Another 6-8 matches at this rate, and the season is kind of over, if promotion is the goal.6 -
Well we were told the price had been agreed so I can't see why RD is going to lower the asking price on the basis somebody was willing to pay it then so should be willing to pay it now.NapaAddick said:

Agreed though about the threat of relegation to League Two unless we start killing teams off at 1-0.1 -
I had a vivid dream last night (after a week off and before returning to work) that the takeover happened really quickly and I was in a quandary about whether to go to the Peterborough game or not.
Sadly, I woke up and checked on here and it was just a dream.1 -

CAN SOMEONE ANYONE POST ANYTHING OF ACTUAL USE?
If not... Well...
FECK THIS THREAD4 -
I had a vivid dream last night (after a week off and before returning from my holiday) that a vile old Belgian was running our club into the ground with his petty cost-cutting and refusal sell the club for a reasonable amount.
Sadly, It wasn’t a dream and I hadn’t been asleep.
