There are no buyers at the current price though and we currently sit in NINTH in league one, any talk of making it to the Premiership is beyond ridiculous at this stage.letthegoodtimesroll said:

And it’s probably that debt which sets the asking price. As long as there are potential buyers at the asking price then the debt is good and the lender doesn’t have to make provisions or write any of the debt off. The bad news is that asking price will have to keep increasing with the debt. The good news is promotion this year underpins it. And promotion to the PL makes the debt insignificant.
So no, the club is not good for the - increasing - debt.0 -
De Turck confirmed at one of the fans’ forum meetings that there was a mechanism to adjust the price for player sales, including Konsa.NapaAddick said:
I keep saying this and no one seems to listen. He will try to sell them and NOT lower the price. Just like he did with Konsa. The price was agreed months ago and then he unloaded Konsa. I've never heard once anywhere that the price has gone down because of that. Because it has not. He wants £40M+ and until he gets it he will keep selling off the assets and the price will not get lower. Either that, or he sells players off just to reduce the annual loss. Either way... the price is not going down, folks. No matter who he sells.Covered_End_Lad said:My main worry with the continuous delay is that RD is going to have a fire sale in January. Fosu, Aribo and Grant are all young quality players and therefore they hold significant value - RD would take 500K for each of them if the deal is cash up front. Hope I am wrong but I think our season will fall apart after January solely down the the old git's greed.
My guess is that it also takes account of operating losses since agreement was reached, so the price may not actually go down. But it’s pretty irrelevant at this point.1 -
That the Aussies have fallen apart. This isn’t particularly new, though.Cafc43v3r said:

Clubs always sell players in the windows. Madrid sold Ronaldo in the summer...ForeverAddickted said:
Yet he always sells every window so why will this one be no different? - Aribo and Grant at present are the two that will be having scouts down here more than anyoneScoham said:

Summer 2018 - Ezri Konsa | Josh Magennis | Harry Lennon
January 2018 - Ricky Holmes
Summer 2017 - Jorge Teixeira | Cristian Ceballos | Tony Watt | Lee Novak
January 2017 - Morgan Fox | Ademola Lookman
Summer 2016 - Jordan Cousins | Johann Gudmundsson | Nick Pope | Callum Harriott | Tarieq Holmes-Dennis
January 2016 - No one
Summer 2015 - Joe Gomez | Rhoys Wiggins
January 2015 - Michael Morrison
Summer 2014 - Diego Poyet
January 2014 - Ben Alnwick | Yann Kermorgant | Dale Stephens
So other than 2016 when we were in danger of relegation from the Championship there hasnt been a window when we've not seen a player departing...2 -

I don't think that would surprise anyone. However, if that is the case, why no announcement that their bid has collapsed, or that they are looking elsewhere? I can see why RD would not be in a hurry to announce they are out of it but what's in it for the Aussies to continue to remain silent? Perhaps just a concern that they will lose some credibility in trying to put together a consortium to purchase another club? God only knows!Airman Brown said:

Compare to those coming in and it'll show we've never had a settled squad. Summer 2016 was the closest to a fire sale, and that was due to relegation.HarryLime said:
That's not a bad squad, OK a couple are a bit long in the tooth now or retired but, you'ld get out the Championship (the right way) with that.ForeverAddickted said:

Just saying
Just looking at January windows we've sold two that the manager didn't want (Morrison and Fox) and two who got offers they were couldn't turn down (Lookman and Holmes). Lookman was never going to stay for long in League 1, he's a much bigger prospect than Aribo or Grant (as good as they are in this league).1 -
My guess is that key people involved still want to carry on and try to reassemble it.robinofottershaw said:

But there are buyers, 5 potentially so we are told and even the EFL seem to have confirmed the Aussie interest and the only figure that seems to be out in the open is the one being bandied about as to how much RD wants. Whether a deal ever gets done is another matter but for the meantime the club has value.Stu_of_Kunming said:

We need Muir to get drunk, accidentally stumble across a broadcast of the 1998 play off and say, 'F*ck it. Get me my chequebook'.9
-
Is it not possible for the to trust get in touch with Muir and ask him directly what the position is with him/them??1

Profile article of Muir from LinkedIn and posted on Addicks.org by Glynne Jones:
"He is also a director of AFL club Essendon and has been linked - erroneously, Muir claims- to a bid for lower league English soccer club Charlton Athletic"

They're all pricks.12

That report throws everything we thought we knew off a cliff doesn’t it. Only at Charlton.1
-
Maybe it means that he, personally, isn't part of the bidding consortium and his involvement has been to support the AFC and help them to find backers?0

Even at 40mil that doesn't cover the debt though, does it?letthegoodtimesroll said:

Are we nearly there yet?1

Even If that were the case then surely he'd still be 'linked to a bid' - which the article says Muir claims is 'erroneous'.....?cafc-west said:Maybe it means that he, personally, isn't part of the bidding consortium and his involvement has been to support the AFC and help them to find backers?
Curious.....1 -
So The Australians are distancing themselves from The Australians.

Sadly this rather confirms that the Aussie consortium is a bit of shambles, when the only big name is publicly distancing himself from it.0

At least we've got Addickted's bid still on the table, some small change and confectionery if I remember correctly.
Oh and Seth's potential lottery win.
No need to worry just yet.0 -

The journo is on Twitter, @JohnStensholt - if anyone wants to ask him why linking Muir to Charlton is erroneous.1
