  • Dr Kish got the Scott Farquhar & Mike Cannon Brooks names from someone who saw them mentioned on CL.

It could still be them, they fit the profile but the person who said it was MCB, while being a very reliable source and all round good guy, might just have be making a joke.

Joking!!! at a time like this????? some may be breaking their boycott off the back of a lot of these rumours and may be sullied forever. Unacceptable!!!!!!!

    Sod it! I’m going today!
Too excited about next week! Just hope it’s true.
If the deal is already signed as some are saying then the money isn’t going to Roland anyway.
Never wanted a weekend to go quicker in my life!!😂
Didn’t get what you meant for a while there.......but grasped it eventually!

It’s that easy to get a random rumour going. People need to relax. We’ve been here so many times before.
    This with bells on

  • So, for the benefit of those who can’t keep up (me).
Have we been bought? If so who is behind the purchase and what are their plans for the club?
Does anyone know more than speculation or made up nonsense?

    No to being bought

    No one knows

I would say it’s more than speculation and there is a load of made up nonsense mixed in with elements of truth hidden in the posts somewhere

Ex Directors agreed a deal then? @Davidsmith

They have not been contacted I am told.
Which would indicate that The Valley is part of the deal and the charges rollover.
Would also indicate buyer is an idiot and is happy to pay £20-£30mn for the Club with no control of it's most valuable assets, as charges are over all assets of the Club.
Which also means buyer cannot raise any finance against said assets without permission or enter into any Leases on assets.
Worry if new buyer keeps charges outstanding as this is their best bargaining tool with Roland to get price down.
Or they have no need to raise finance against the assets.

If you see an owner who you believe is destroying the club you love, it is hard to put money in his pocket. Yes, he may not lose any sleep over your money, but it does have a collective power in reminding him what a failure he is amongst other things. And this may or may not help him decide it isn't worth it in the end.

He never about us before he bought us, got a weekly or monthly report as all owners would from the CEO or MD. Looks at the bottom line every six months not the attendances. At least he has openly put his hands up in open forum and admitted mistakes were made, and I am sure even those who hate him the most he has bank rolled the club and has taken nothing out just kept it afloat as any owner of a football club would have done.
Jesus Christ, what planet are you on? He's bank rolled the club because it would go into administration if he didn't continue to keep us afloat and then he'd lose everything he'd put into it.

As for admitting mistakes, I've read that he acknowledges he shouldn't have got involved in football, still waiting for him to admit that emailing tactical advice to a former England international was a bad idea, as were virtually all of his signings, his choice of CEO, his chief scout, his managers, etc, etc, etc. Still waiting for the apology for damaging, perhaps irreparably, a 100 plus year old football club. Definitely wasn't aware that an "open forum" had taken place - I'd have been there like a shot of I'd known about it.

5 years of failure and destruction and there's still people excusing him, unbelievable.
Is that the England international that fucked up tatics at Bramell Lane that would have got us to the semi finals of the FA Cup. According to some he never put anything into the club but in your own admissions you have stated he has. He has lost millions, his own fault yes, as all other football chairmen, however if you look back at my point how many will return, I put it a very small percentage.
Lol you mug. Have you even got eyes?

What could Powell have done better at Bramell lane? Hed had the rug completely pulled from under him, his best players sold, was being pressured from above to play the network imports, the players knew what was going on, he knew it was all over and he had been told he was getting sacked if he didn't play the likes of Thuram and Koc.

I'd say he did as well as anyone could have in the circumstances.
Mug? Classy, you are genuinely telling me that the starting 11 that day were worse than Sheffield United. If the fans had to get up and leave at silly o’clock that day, and he wasn’t able to tactically work with the team and motivate them to get into the semi final of the FA Cup then yea maybe I am mug. BTW how many games did Koc play for us?
When have you ever done anything classy? Clearly I've sunk to your level.

Maybe not worse in terms of quality although significantly weaker than the side that had got us to the quarter finals. No you're a mug of you don't realise that everything going on behind the scenes has an effect on the players and management and definitely affected the way they played that day. And for thinking it's just about what happens on the pitch (your reason for refusing to allow any criticism of Duch) when there is so much more to it.

It doesn't matter how many games he played. The owner was putting pressure on Powell to play him and used it as part of the reason to sack him.
"even if this thread continues for another 5 years".
    What do you mean "if"

    This thread will live forever.

    - People brokering the deal have said that club will change hands Monday. (Australians)

    - Money is there and been confirmed

    - Thought to be in the region of 20-30 million

    - 'I know some charlton fans are sceptical but I’m on the money with this one'

Are you doucher in disguise ? he assured us weeks/months/years ago he would be the first to let us know
can't confirm yet but lets just say that I've swung into the 'this could well be imminent' group

    Nope.
Jim White on Sky News is reporting it as definite.
You had one job - to be the first to break the news and thereby retain your position of smuggest know-it-all on the block.
Epic fail Douche. Late to the party mate
i will confirm if it gets completed however, which it hasn't yet,
You may, since we have given you the heads-up

  • Well, tie my kangaroo down, sport.
    Tie my kangaroo down. 😀😀😀
  • Will boycotters return?
I’ve just been informed my bestie is going today.
She’s not set foot inside the Valley since Douchbag bought us & she’s second generation CAFC. I honestly didn’t see that coming.
    Me?
I’m all aboard the Shrewsbury bus, until he’s officially gone I’m staying in West Cork.
  • David Smith the (potential) new owners have earned far more than £7m since you started reposting. Repayment of the loans doesn't need negotiating with the debenture holders, they are repaid then they are gone.

  • Not been there for years , seriously is that London Bridge , looks amazing !
Is there still that sticky little boozer next door to the ticket office where the station split and you had to show tickets to get to platforms heading towards Sidcup, bexleyheath etc

Who are the new owners? Do you know for sure they are repaying? Apart from Murray they were all gone in 2010,leaving their debt to save the club from admin.
I am sure they hope you are correct.
Will be the first owners ever to engage with them properly since 2010.

It’s the sheer size and height that gets me every time I go through there. It looks large enough to accomodate the valley, stands as well. How did they manage that without raising the height of the tracks or going below street level ? It never looked that high before.

I cannot remember the name but I do remember the bloody thing did not have a toilet and you had to pop along to the concourse area to have a piddle.
