Hope Roland takes the box 📦 and when he opens it, it has 1p in it.
Could think of alot worse things to put in a box than 1p

There’s a song in there somewhere.

Is it ‘56 trombones’ which was the version before inflation set in ?

£30m for Charlton, training ground, stadium, the lot still seems overpriced to me.

Roland demanding the EFL take the club off his hands is a whacked out idea and suggests a growing desparation and  frustration at the situation dragging on and making him look like a crazy old shitbird.

Hopefully, he's on the verge of packing it in and will take a one off, all in cash payment to get shot of us troublesome peasants.

    I can dream anyway.

My intel is telling me that it is a consortium of @colin1961? @DOUCHER @NapaAddick and the real reason they dropped off the thread is now apparent.

Airman saying it’s “highly unlikely from everything I’ve heard” on the back of Bob’s first tweet that he will accept

My only worry is that this person is a FORMER banker, implying that s/he weren't that good at it.

Maybe this new offer includes paying off the previous shareholders?  Was that always a sticking point in RD's eyes?
It might do in which case price for the club would only be £23m otherwise the cost to the purchaser rises to £37m. Alternatively the former Directors' charges can be left in place and rolled over. @Davidsmith any snippets?
Glad I was on the same page as Bob Whitehand :sunglasses:.

I will say that I think Bob and others overstate the idea that an incoming owner would necessarily have to pay them. You can’t blame them for having their money at the forefront of their consideration, but it isn’t necessarily going to be front and centre for a buyer. They can work around it.

Depends what the offer really is. Could be £30m now, the sell-ons for Lookman/Gomez, and potential add-ons if the team reaches the PL for all we know.

All the noise lately has been that he wants much more than £30m, with or without the £7m loans. But he’s nuts and seems to say different things from day to day, even publicly, and including via LDT.

It does seem a lot but football has gone crazy since he bought us. 30mil would only just about cover Mbappes knob if PSG decide to sell him.
