I didnt criticise non boycotters, quite the opposite- please re-read my posthoof_it_up_to_benty said:
Not clear of your point re boycotting. If boycotters criticise those who attend then it's fair enough to reply to their criticism.MuttleyCAFC said:I am not technically a boycotter because I still go to most games, but I am a protester and I haven't got the answers. What I do is spend a lot less on the club and go to a few fewer games and no longer buy a season ticket. It may not be much but it is something.
My view is in life you have people who try to do something about what is wrong and people who may not like it but don't. They will often say, what is the point, it won't make any difference. Of course in some instances. including our one they may be right. But if the World was full of people who did nothing, they would still be sending kids up chimneys.
What I will say about Boycotters, and I include Peter in that through gritted teeth as he is a ref, is that I highly respect them because they are making a big sacrifice trying to do SOMETHING. I am trying to do something, but am not in their league or many others in terms of sacrifice. I will always side with people who try to do something. Having said that, the club still needs supporters to go too. It is just these people, including myself, should go and shut up in terms of criticising those that are making a stand by not going. That annoys me beyond anything.
Duchatelet has to be removed and he will not be removed by people who do nothing. That is for sure!0 -
Lucky escape.
Never trust anyone with Mehmet in their name!
All they're good for is a bit of filth and sexual innuendo9 -
But we’re being told the stumbling block is the loans.Cardinal Sin said:
You have to remember that they are dealing with Roland Duchatelet. It probably doesn't make complete sense to them either. We all know how weird the owner is.KBslittlesis said:u
So buy us then.Cardinal Sin said:
Well they haven't gone after anyone else and are still here. Maybe they really want to buy us.killerandflash said:
Sorry I don't buy that, especially as it's not an individual and the make up of the consortium seems to have changed during the period.Cardinal Sin said:
We shouldn't blame the Aussies for hanging about - we should praise them for it. If the price Duchatelet was asking for was completely unrealistic and they knew no-one else was going to pay it, why not wait for the price to drop? That is what appears to have happened. I'd rather new owners only pay what the deal is worth so that they have more money available to run the club. I don't believe for a minute that they will spend £40m acquiring the club and then be unable to develop it or run it for long enough before running out of funds.clb74 said:
I don't think this fella will be messing about for 2 years JamesJamesSeed said:
Sum is close to the £33m plus directors loans Muttley. Same for this Cardiff fella. It was more (nearer Airman’s £45m) but Roly reduced it (the selling his shares for £1 business). Roland wants out, and much of it is down to the protests which have really got to him.MuttleyCAFC said:Airman has confirmed that there is no shortage of potential buyers. Nobody is buying because Roland wants too much. So this is just more of the same crap. Are we supposed to forget he wants too much or assume an even bigger idiot than him wants to buy us at £60m?
Dalman seems like he means business, but he’ll probably discover all the crap that Gerard discovered, and it’s a question of whether or not it puts him off, I imagine. How it could happen quickly I have no idea, but we live in hope.
The idea that someone would try to buy a club, and then deliberately wait 2 years to get the price to come down is bizarre. If that was the case, why haven't the Aussies been linked with other clubs? If the Aussies were quoted an unacceptable price to buy us, surely the logical thing would be to say "goodbye drongo" and look elsewhere, not wait 2 years...
Stop dicking about.
None of this makes sense.
7m
If you waited this long, the price had finally come down & all that stood in your way was that, wouldn’t you just pay it?
I’m just not convinced anyone is telling us the truth & all those supposedly itk aren’t.
I’m in the worst mood, sorry.7 -

Sorry mate, just feel so shit and sick of it all now.killerandflash said:
There certainly is a fair chance of relegation this season, but to suggest that we will never get back is way over the top.CAFCTrev said:If hes still here for next season I think relegation back to L1 is pretty much guaranteed. We will be lucky if we ever claw our way back again.
Trev, your reaction is understandable, and despite the levity that breaks out in a gallows humour way i can't believe even the stoic stiff upper lip CL posters don't have moments of doubt about where we will end up as long as Duchatelet's tenure lasts.
One old reprobate once said "we are in for a bumpy ride" well fucx my old boots, never has that applied more than being Charlton supporters over the last 6 years, during the chaotic last year of the 3 amigos and the tenure of the failed Politician.
Please don't despair till Duchatelet stays for another year, all the coaching staff leave with Bowyer, Nobby Vinegar finally gets the job that he was promised by Roland, and we amass less points than Derby county did in that infamous season when Savage was captain. Until that happens keep your pecker up.

@DOUCHER posted this in the Bowyer thread, but it’s just as relevant here:DOUCHER said:Haven't read last few pages or been on this morning but just had a bulletin. We are nearly there I think - Bowyers and many others contracts will follow on from the takeover which I believe is at a very advanced stage with the ex Cardiff chairman - verified from inside the club. Watch this space.10

Doesn't sound like someone 100% confident in what Dalman told him. Keep the faith I would say.
On a side note this Paul bloke looks a dead ringer for that lunatic in Luther Season 1 episode 4.

To be fair. That forum and in particular that poster does have contacts in Cardiff.Scoham said:The forum that shall not be named have heard Dalman’s takeover will be completed in 10 days to two weeks...4 -

Yeah and the same poster shared what the article today was going to say before it went online. Doucher’s said similar as well.ShootersHillGuru said:

The info is hopefully accurate, but what can’t be predicted is Duchatelet’s handling of it all.8 -
But they also said a British Consortium was going to by us within a week back in August 2018?????ShootersHillGuru said:

We are taking about a bloke who cant even sort out a contract extension and pay him his worth for Bowyer who has upped the profile 1000% of our club so realistically what chance was there of sorting out a deal to sell our club
I will tell you f**k all chance
Ten rich Arabs carrying ten sacks of gold and he would still find a reason not to sell

It won't though will it? Even under RD we are a big and attractive league 1 club. Even on a break even budget we would be "competitive" in league 1. 3 transfer windows would be all it would take, at a maximum, for a new owner to turn it round on the pitch.addick05 said:Cafc43v3r said:

Wouldn't go as strong as BS, but it would have been better had Trev given a timeline, say within 10 years?
The 3 play off games showed that this clubs is far from dead.
If you went to Rochdale and saw Nobel, Parrot et al near the end of Powell's 1st season you would never imagine we would walk the league the next season.1 -
Plenty of people have been wrong about the takeover, including some that post on here who are reliable. Don’t think incorrect rumours from last year prove anything either way.KBslittlesis said:

In fact he has quite a lot of contacts not just those at Cardiff. He doesn’t always hit the spot but then nobody does. Don’t completely disregard a comment made by Reams.Scoham said:

Mehmet has said he’s going. Tan wants him to stay & has upped his money.

1724, Blenheim Palace is completed.0

But Mehmet is just as rich as Tan1

Suggesting the deal is all but done, also, there surely no way more money would keep you from going to own a club altogether.KBslittlesis said:So my update:

Yeah if he's well off anyway then a better contract shouldn't make any difference. Clearly wants a new challenge.cafc_harry said:

As I've been twat of the day over there in the past it almost makes me feel like I'm in the know.Scoham said:The forum that shall not be named have heard Dalman’s takeover will be completed in 10 days to two weeks...6 -
That sounds like a perfect example of the so-called Roland’s Law, which states that it is the case that no obstacle can be removed until the obstacle has been removed.MuttleyCAFC said:My problem is, forget the buyer, but there seems to be one major obstacle every time. As far as I can see, there has been no mention of said obstacle being removed. We have absolutely no reason to be optimistic.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dalman doesn't seem to be involved with Cardiff to be on a healthy salary? Seems more to me it's his passionate hobby to be heavily involved with a football club. Would seem weird he would be offered more money and that would make him stay.KBslittlesis said:So my update:

Basically he's rich as so why would a pay increase make him want to stay there. I've seen a Cardiff poster on their forum has said that he has always seemed to have wanted to own a club.7 -
Thanks mate appreciate it!! Still not losing hope on this one yet!KBslittlesis said:So my update:
