A "joint" bid between the Yanks & the Aussies...............I think someone is yanking your chain James.
    Colin.
  • The latest I heard is that finally, an offer has been accepted.  It's within the range of figures that have been talked about for some time now, but not at the high end.  The offer is all-cash and, with luck, the due diligence should be completed within the next couple of weeks.  And, by then, the Australian consortium that we have known about all this time will finally - finally! - complete the takeover.  Of the American consortium.
  • I once sat next to a foreigner on a plane.

I don't attach any significance to this, but for curiosity's sake...
What, Jacko & Marsh are both folding their arms?
Never mind that, has Basey got some pastry stuck between his teeth

Just confirms what we've known for some time now that the club isn't actually for sale.
    No it doesn't.

Because turning down offers says otherwise?

It might be for sale but with a Premier League price tag is it really?

Yes. It's called a set price, open to offers.

If the offers aren't deemed high enough it is accepted that the owner may not move their price.

Our situation is a bit different though as our value has increased since we were put on sale, therefore the current owner has likely increased our price accordingly.

Still for sale, just at a revalued price.

    I don't have to prove a negative.

The price has always been unrealistic.  That they are still taking bids suggests that the club IS for sale.

Whether it will actually be sold soon is a whole other question but past history points to December being a likely time of year to sell.
  • Very smart move here. Knowing the Directors Box gets heavy scrutiny they ask for eight seats behind the dugout where they can pass as regular Joes. In addition to the job-lot on scarves, they have even gone as far as to have their security man wear a people's Donkey Jacket and have sat him apart in the row in front. They clearly weren't banking on Airman Brown's telescopic lens and native cunning.

Gutted I missed page 1995. Crazy to think @ForeverAddickted started secondary when I would only have been about 2-3 weeks old.

Just have to settle for being 2 in 1997.

The page numbers are the most exciting thing on this thread now.

I wonder if we get to page 2020 before the turn of the new year, the internet will just explode..?
Everyone is waiting with baited breath to find out the year canters lost his virginity!
    Still waiting

Still no explanation as to who they are though?
Blokes in the scarves are Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb
Shouldn't this be on the pensioner thread, only people of that age will probably know what you are talking about  :)
Ha I’m nowhere near Pension age, my old man used to sing it all the time at home.
    Which one was he, then?

Fair point HI, my interpretation of the club being for sale is when the price is a realistic one rather than a price purposesly set too high unless a mug punter is willing to pay it.

Agreed December is the most likely month based on history.
Agree it's about RD being realistic but think the price is too high because it's based on him recouping his losses, not on the value of the club.

Fingers crossed we get good news in December.
