  • I wouldn’t expect to hear anything until tomorrow at the earliest and probably not until next week. Panic if 2 weeks pass without any news. Matt Southall also said they wouldn’t make any further comment until it’s all signed off.
I’m sure the EFL are just as keen as anybody to be rid of Roland.
2 home games next week and I fully expect to see the new regime on the pitch at one of them (Given the injuries they might even be playing).

If today passes us by without EFL CONFORMATION then i would take Hull City game and a live SKY game ,if after that game nothing is heard then as riky otto said Panic.

Make it Hull City for me i can attend that one.
  • I don’t know how long these things usually take but 6 days does not seem that long.
Probably find that the lawyers acting for the vendor havent filed the paperwork for the transfer. Will  Roland have gone back to his favourite Belgian lawyer after the screw up on the sale of Hillborough for the Wendies or does he want the receipt in the next financial year?

Do you reckon the EFL will give my banner back after this debacle, I spent several hours on it

@TEL I haven’t seen the video, but if Nimer was talking about “green investing” it’s likely he means sustainable rather than agricultural. In banking now, we offer a range of “green facilities” linked to a client’s own credentials. So, developing a carbon neutral office would qualify for lower margins on the loan to develop it.

For football, look at something like what Forest Green did with their stadium. I don’t know how they financed that, but I could have linked that to a green loan and discounted the margin/fee.
Makes sense @TelMc32 probably a combination of both, here is the link

  • Just watching the playoff final highlights again, still brings me to tears. Who would of thought that the BFG's goal would be worth potentially multi billionaire owners.
    This.

Absolutely convinced if we'd lost we'd still be owned by Roland for another year minimum and with a complete rebuild of the squad required I'm not even convinced we'd have been in the promotion race this season in League One either.

Everything achieved last season would have collapsed in an instant.
  • Especially as it's only the 4th working day since the announcement!
I'm pretty sure the EFL would have been provided with information on the takeover quite a while before the official announcement hit the OS.
  • That’s because they aren’t. When you consider what a ball ache it is to get to grounds like Bolton, Oxford, Colchester etc etc. Numerous buses, train station (albeit South Eastern), jubilee line and DLR not far away - I think we have it pretty good in terms of public transport
I'm probably considered a plastic as I rarely manage to get to The Valley these days (I live in Gloucestershire). However, I really think transport links to The Valley are pretty good. Especially with the DLR/Underground and overground all 'linked' from a ticketing point of view. With four generations of my family supporting the Addicks at The Valley, it would be a wrench for them to move.

Remember saying to my Dad before the trophy presentation that it was a complete game changer winning that match.

It opened us up to so many more options in terms of who may be interested in buying us, and I have no doubt that things would’ve been very bad for us in League One this season.

A real struggle or genuine second chance was decided that day. Luckily it was us who came out on top.
Yes. Was talking with a Sunderland fan at work yesterday and we both agreed that the play-off final was a make or break for both clubs. If Sunderland had won, the Dell takeover would have progressed to completion.

    Sorry, mackems (no I'm not).

I've always felt that the 2015/16 relegation to L1 was a major reason why we ended up stuck with Roland for so long. I remember at the time of the protests that season, people saying that us getting relegated wasn't a bad thing as it was bound to make Roland sell, but I never agreed with this as being in the Championship is far more attractive for potential buyers.

  • I think the reason was Roland was asking too much for us. Of course if somebody is willing to pay an inflated price they may have more money than somebody who isn't. But I think promotion, but more than that, how we achieved it and our higher profile has put us more out there and it looks like we have been fortunate to get a bite from a big fish.

Well Bowyer usually speaks to the press on a Thursday morning (usually 1pm tends to be the latest)

    As perfectly shown here

1:30mins in. How did this go so unnoticed?

That shapely arse of hers didn't go unnoticed at all.
Took me a while to realise that it wasn't just cos I couldn't take my eyes off it, why it sounded like she was talking through it.
And for the avoidance of doubt yes I still would.
  • They're waiting until 15:07 today.
    ( Time of Walsh's goal)
    thanks for manslpaining that CB
  • Don’t think there was any doubt there. Would have to involve a ball gag though tbf.

Going back to trains (!), is there a closer station to a ground than at Charlton? Charlton station is literally four or five minutes round the corner from The Valley.
