    At no point have either Doucher or NLA said the Aussies would buy the club. At no point have they disclosed any of the names involved or detail of the actual deal. They have posted a number of red herrings about due diligence and ex-directors’ loans and the Aussies not having the money.

    It’s not about who’s in the know or otherwise, but the sum total of their contribution has been “not yet”. Fair enough, you can argue they have been more accurate than Murray on that, but without the detail of what it is, what does it amount to?

    Just to show how things are for me, waiting for the takeover, I'm presently reading Samuel Pepys diary. He's just had a red herring for dinner. He's also been out clubbing - the first known use of the word - which is remarkable. I'd have guessed the word originated from the 1920s, the Jazz Age, rather than the 1660s.

    Appreciate you know nothing about the fanzine market, but tweeting things between issues (or putting stuff online here or at www.votvonline.com) doesn’t sell extra copies of issues that don’t contain the relevant information.

    If anything it’s counter-productive, but other than revealing Muir on the front cover last August - a scoop that now looks likely to be the biggest of the whole saga, although it met a muted response at the time - I’ve generally not kept significant stuff back for publication. Timelines don’t suit it and I was more interested in sharing what I’d heard.

    If I only wanted to maximise fanzine sales I would never disclose or comment on anything online, but the world isn’t that simple for most people.
