The fact I am keeping my LA job offer on hold till next week to see what happens (when you have nut job Trump in the driving seat over there that says something) indicates that whilst you are angry Mutts, I am also seething over Labours plans.
All in all it hasn't been a very pleasant last couple of weeks for anyone following this election - we will either have a government who clearly has upset the apple cart or a country run by a significantly smaller party who will also be unpopular.
Good times - democracy is one of the greatest things we have but it also divides us big time
If you move to LA, how much do you expect to have to pay for your family's security, healthcare and education?
With the relocation package they are offering to cover just that.
Moving to a new job here would resort in me paying more to the government via any rise than to my family.
Travel costs will be lower, weather will be better, the school that my eldest will be put into looks great.
If anyone has done a move before, one of the biggest gripes is taking my son out of a school he is happy with and has friends at. It's balancing that out with protecting his future and the security I am working to provide him and his brother with my career.
It will also be great for his Motorsport career. He is already beating 12 year old kids in karting and he is 8. Standard in the US is shit comparatively so he will school it. Never mind the tax rises would hit how much I can support him financially in a bloody expensive sport.
Incidentally Diane Abbott versus Amber Rudd on R4 Women's Hour from 9am. Surely they will go easier on her....... Will they?
Someone get that popcorn gif
It is reported that less than half an hour before the programme was due to begin, BBC producers said they had been informed Diane Abbott was 'ill' and couldn't take part!
What I want to know is will we have a CL exit poll?

Your not upset and angry at the Boris Johnson interview on ITV this morning then? Our forign secretary who sits in the COBRA meetings, Foreign secretary, and didn't know how many people who went out to fight for ISIS returned to UK. As you may know, the last Labour government issued control orders, May watered them down to Tpims. Boris was told the nimber was 400 and was asked how many of these Tpim were applied to these 400. He said he didn't have the number, but these we done on a daily basis by the home secretary. Suzanne Reid came in at the end of the the interview and said we have got the figures and the number is One. I am responding to your post because you seem pretty strong on this subject, but where is that condemnation on here - nowhere to be seen. May was a home secreatry that watered down ant-terror laws, massively cut the police and told them not to cry wolf when they warned her about it, she oversaw record increases in immigration despite pledging to cut it - and on this thread it doesn't bother you. You are more bothered about the party pledging to increase Police numbers and pledging to let the police get on with their jobs. I notice the way anger can be switched on then we can let people who we should be livid with off the hook the next minute.
Fair enough, some answers at least. For what it's worth, I don't believe it's comparing apples with apples - but Abbott shades it on the shite stakes.
Incidentally i cannot believe how often Boris gets away with taking an almighty, personal, off topic sideswipe and interviewers indulge him. I am so pleased the public sees through him more now. He's nasty, manipulative and vindictive.
He also didn't pull up any trees as mayor, just spoke often enough and had the support of government.

He tried his act with Mishal Husain on Radio 4 this morning, assuming he could get away with his cretinous bluster and demeaning obfuscation yet again. He underestimated her and was slapped down appropriately and pleasingly regularly.
If it comes to stark reality I believe the Tories only want power for the sake of the power, not to do any good, and not to negotiate a successful Brexit, not even to have a strong economy particularly, but to be in charge. Let's take Brexit as an example, people who were against it are now for it, no deal is better than a bad deal, whatever the situation the Tories want to be in charge of it. They have no ideology, no direction of travel they are empty vessels who lust for power, and yes see others as oiks and plebs. It was Thatcher who enquired about somebody 'is he one of us?' The other parties believe in something, even bloody UKIP. This is probably why they will lose, other parties believe in something which is a disadvantage, because once you put your head above the parapet and say what you believe in you're there to be shot down. The Tories will say they believe in anything or nothing in order to get elected, and they will be. At which point they will possibly look after those they see as 'one of us'. The rest of the population are there to be exploited under the guise of 'hard choices'. Other parties trail in the wake of the Tories because the Tory empty vessels float better than those with substance.

Just out of interest have you not considered a move within WPP, and more importantly a move to one of the big European centres? I ask because, going back to our conversation last week, you are busy downgrading your forecasts whereas your colleagues in Europe are busy upgrading theirs. And you'd be just a couple of hours from home, and The Valley (not that right now there is any compelling reason to get excited by that). What about Frankfurt? Better weather, good schools, Bundesliga football and great beer for half the price you pay at home, and a direct train back to Ebbsfleet soon as an alternative to flying (assuming May doesn't block up the tunnel as part of her hard Brexit).

I would like to return to the topic of University fees
Today my Swedish buddy called me from his car. He was on his way to Copenhagen with his daughter, who is following her brother to study there.
Under a pan-Nordic agreement (a sort of mini-EU which includes Norway) the unis of all four countries are open to citizens of all those countries.
Fees? None. Paid by the State from general taxation (and possibly not even re-imbursed from the student's State to the State where the Uni is. He isn't sure).
Living costs? Paid by student from a 0% loan. However State writes off 50% if student successfully graduates.
My buddy's kids are both one year younger than my sister's two kids. My buddy is CEO and chairman of Haki, a big Scandi company in scaffolding. His kids Uni is basically costing him nothing beyond his tax.
My sister's husband is a postman. She herself has worked most of her life too, as a secretary. So not exactly CEO income. Without my financial support she wonders if either of them would have opted for Uni.
Denmark can under no circumstances be described as a "socialist" country, although it does have a relatively high tax base. My buddy says the uni. policy described above is not a political issue in any of the four countries.
How come they are willing to and can afford to invest in the education of their young people from general public budgets and the UK allegedly cannot? And has anyone ever met a Scandi university graduate who didn't appear at least as smart and educated as his or her British counterpart?
Why do we have such a fucked up policy towards Uni fees and why are more of you not seething with anger about it?

Corbyn is right on this one.
You always provide so much prologue to your stories - " today I was driving in my car, it was late morning but not yet lunchtime. I took a call from my friend Sven from Sweden who was born in Malmo, or possibly Gothenburg, to a family of talented weavers...".

Yeah I read it, read the previous I just agreed that we should have a poll ffs lol
I'll tell you what @MuttleyCAFC you answer my week old question about why there isn't a Christian version of Islamophobia, then I'll answer your explosive rant about me not piping up on this thread enough.

To coin our favourite 80s / 90s phrase - itchy beard!!
And for people saying May doesnt turn up, she doesnt make up excuses and lies. She just says she isnt doing it!
Foot in mouth disease?
I reckon she has suffered a bout of self realisation or a Labour member has shot her in the foot.
