All the rumours are coming true. Labour gain in Wales.

    Vale of Clwyd:
    Lab: 50.2% (+11.9)
    Con: 44.1% (+5.0)
    PC: 4.0% (-3.0)
    LDem: 1.7% (-0.9)
  • LAB gain Vale of Clwyd !!!

    CON 17044
    LAB 19423
    LD 666
    PC 1551

Dang! That's a huge result! Now I hope they get Gower too, Byron Davies is a nasty piece of work and a symbol of arrogancy.
  • If this turns out like it is looking then I will happily pay more taxes to try to repair the Tory damage. Not borrowing from a magic money tree but an increase in real money from a taxpayer.

Justine Greening holds on in Putney for the Tories

Gone from a 10k majority to 1500, big swing.

    Thanks for this important update.
  • How can we have a party in power IF they have so few seats?

The Lib Dems would have to be in coalition - they say very strongly they wont.
With the other smaller parties making it up

And it still wouldn't be a majority going on predictions.....

The key for me is getting that coalition to a majority. Otherwise we can't go on for 5 years with a bigger opposition than Corbyns Labour.

    Nothing would ever get done.

  • CON hold Putney.

Majority cut from ~10k to ~1.5k.

    10% swing to LAB.
  • LAB hold Clwyd South.
  • Putney:

    Con: 44.1% (-9.7)
    Lab: 40.8% (+10.8)
    LDem: 11.6% (+5.3)
    Grn: 2.4% (-2.5)
    UKIP: 1.0% (-3.6)
    Ind: 0.1% (-0.3)

No worries, I'll keep you ..abreast.. of any further developments.
  • So. What do the Tories do next if this is true?
  • CON hold Hertsmere.

Better to form a loose coalition on an issue by issue basis.
  • I think people worried about Efford can probably rest easy

    Maybe.

The pub was flooded with Labour people, and they seemed chipper.

I went and thanked him for helping us get our Mums Blue Badge back.

Then I asked him if he remembered The Valley Party, and doesn't he owe me a few thousand pints ? Due to his ill judged bet.

He claimed a new version of the bet. That he would buy Steve Dixon a beer if we got more votes than CAFC scored goals.

    Dissembling politician, worthless commitments.

    :-)

  • Up at 4.45am.
On duty as a Poll Clerk at 6.00am.
Solid graft from 7.00am until 10.00pm (with x2 ten-minute breaks for lunch and supper).
    Off duty at 10.30pm.
Thence to the pub (Yum)... to speculate on what might be.

By Christ, I despise the Tories. Self, self, self.

    Yours,
    ...for Green Socialism.
