It seems like bollocks to me. Duty of care is arguable, but if that has to be fulfilled it should not include actually playing for the club in any capacity. Taking the piss.

If there's a duty of care then by all means let him train with us, but no need for him to actually play. We should be giving minutes to a promising 17/18 year old talent, not that waste of space.
