    Last pre-season was an absolute joke. I seem to remember the squad a week before the opening game looking bare and frankly not good enough.
    This year it seems that the preparation is a lot better and that is down to Karl, and not the SMT, I'd suggest.

    what's the cutoff point between enthusiastic optimism and utter delusion? Or should that be between positive sounding spin and downright dishonesty? FSG can't really believe half of what he's saying about future signings can he? Or resisting selling RH? If FSG gets to hang on to RH AND sign two or three more of the calibre of Sharp & Marshall I'll be a monkey's uncle, if he gets to sign six or seven anybodies I'll eat my hat as The Earth tilts on its axis and Satan worries about frostbite. The absentee septuagenarian shit4brains "president" ain't gonna spring for that sort of outlay in 3 transfer windows let alone 1. Even if he did, it's not like FSG will get to see the results, cos roly's trigger finger will spasm at some point and Karl will be downloading his P45 and severance pay long before the season's over. The Belgian bungler is far too old to learn any new tricks, indeed all compassionate veterinarians would euthanize any dumb animal showing such symptoms of age related distress.
