    What a sprint by Kittel!

Think we'll see this for a lot of the Sprints into Paris now

Good ride from Dan McLay to get 7th
Yep, McLay is having a good tour, three top tens is it?
  • 50th day in yellow for Froome tomorrow, that's some going.

Contador has crashed with less than 20km to go... Is now back with the Peleton
  • Gonna be a tight finish here... Bodnor is 17secs clear with 3.4km to go

Going to be a last km heartbreaker for Bodnar.

No way will he stay clear of the Sprinters once they get going

Great ride by him, reminded me of Tony Martin at the Veulta a few years ago, there will be a day for the breakaway very soon.

Mclay 5th and Swift 9th for those who keep an eye out for GB riders.
  • McLay 5th, getting higher each time.
  • So sad for Bodnar, brilliant ride.

  • Least it made the Sprint a bit more interesting... I've never known them to be dominated by one rider so badly... Cav was good in his prime with HTC but he always had the likes of Greipel and Hushovd to make his life difficult

Kittel is having an easy ride here because Cav is injured | Demare was eliminated and Greipel is just shite now

Indeed, losing Sagan hasn't helped either. Annoying that so many others are out when there is so much opportunity for sprinters this year

I'm honestly not even blaming Kittel here as its not his fault no one can rival him.

Going by previous years where the opening Stage has been a sprint day (so that Cav could get the Yellow Jersey) its almost as though they've created this Tour route for him to break the Merckx record, it just went pear shaped with the illness and injury he's picked up.
  • What's the record for most stage wins in one tour? Kittel could well rival it

What's the record for most stage wins in one tour? Kittel could well rival it

    Eight...

Pélissier (1930) | Merckx (1970 | 1974) | Maertens (1976) are the three guys to have won that many in one Tour

Kittel now has 14-wins overall and at 29 (just three years younger than Cavendish) its doubtful he'll break Merckx record himself - In 2009; Cavendish won six stages in one year so Kittel is closing in on that as there are three flat stages left.
  • Not the greatest cycling fan but got hold of a couple of massive fantastic looking Froome autographed framed prints a few months ago, so should get a decent price for them if he wins again :) Come on Froome!
  • Apparently its the hardest stage of the Tour today (cant understand why) yet Steve Cummings is finally part of todays Breakaway...

On the 50th Anniversary of Tom Simpson's death be great if he can win today

Steve Cummings using the breakaway as his tribute to Tom Simpson.
  • Just seen there's a rider called Jack Bauer which made me laugh. However if you've never seen 24 this will mean absolutely nothing.
  • Steve Cummings has dropped de Gendt 3km from the second to last climb (Just before the (184) on the above map

  • @Leroy Ambrose if you win the amateur world champs in france are you going to get your cervelo done in those lovely Brit Decals like Stevoooo?
  • Lol at the spectator trying to run after froome/aru and give them a pat on the arse
  • Whoops... One of the SKY Riders ahead of Froome forgot to turn and rode straight into a group of Motorhomes parked up (managed to get through the gap), both Froome and Aru followed him but those two only just left the road and were quickly back on
  • Quintana looks to have been dropped... He's been awful this year, hasn't come close to mounting an attack!!
  • Can Cummings do it? Such an appropriate day if he could.

Its a shame as it depends on whether SKY (another British Team) want to catch him or not
  • Cummings is done... That lead has just gone from 1min to 30secs in the blink of an eye
  • 1km to go... Zilch attacks so far...

At the moment can only think that Aru is going to try and win the stage at the death and so get the 10sec bonus!!
  • Although Dan Martin looks ready to go!!

Froome has lost the Yellow Jersey to Aru there!!... Comes in 16secs down at least yet Aru got third so will get a few bous seconds

Or has he given it to him? ;)
