When I first did film reviewing, just after he moved to Sky, I got a column on the same website as him. My mum was so proud, I didn't have the heart to tell her that his reviews were almost certainly being written by his PA or family members!

I met him a handful of times (bizarrely, I was technically his boss for a short period), and he was really sweet and charming every time - and not remotely full of himself - It's fair to say he really didn't fit in at Sky!

Very sad. Saw him give a talk at the Chaplin Festival in Waterville. Absolutely brilliant. Great stories superbly told.
