Yes. He was terrible in midfield last season, understandably as it's not his position. He had no idea where he was meant to be on the pitchBeardface said:
this is not true. Konsa is a CB and an able fill in at RB. He was tried at CM and struggled. The fact that in every pre-season performance so far he's played at CB tells you exactly that.sammy391 said:Don't quite understand the happiness of getting rid of Tex based on already having a few CB's!
Tex Is easily in the top 3 defenders at the club, so removing him now means Naby Sarr is our next back up should Pearce or Bauer get injured!
Konsa seen as more of a CDM, where harry Lennon has been naff1 -
Jury still very much out on Ceballos but I think he was ditched too early last time around and as a young players there is every chance he has developed both technically and physically since his last stint in SE7. I'm not going to pin much expectation on him just because he's doing well in preseason, but equally so if he is one of our best performers in preseason then he should be seriously consider for first team action once the season starts proper.5

Good to get Tex's salary off the wage bill. We were probably helped by a combination of factors, including the fall in sterling against the Euro, the player's wishes, Sint-Truidin's need to replace their centre half and, of course, Roland's ability to undertake a bookkeeping exercise.0

I think the Tex deal has been bubbling for a while. On Monday at the team hotel someone told Robbo "Tex is in there" (the teams meeting room) to which KR raised his eyebrows...as if to suggest he wasn't expecting to see him. The exact same thing happened a moment later when KR told one of the players he was there.
I figured his days were numbered and then when deployed as a wingback that kind of confirmed it.
Regardless of whether people rated him (which I did) he was never particularly content here, was supposedly on a big wage and personal experience and that of a few others confirmed he was a really miserable fucker.
If £12k a week is correct that could do some damage in this division. Spend it wisely KR4 -
Behave, this guy was a classic regime signing. Looks quality on the soft ball playing continent and in the opponents 18 yard box but was fucking hopeless and got dominated by career 3rd tier centre forward bullies. Him and Bauer are useless centre halves in this country especially at 2nd and third tier level.
Dominate your centre forward and win the first time balls before you think about doing anything else.16 -
If this deal goes through then it's just Saint Trinains taking over his remaining 3 years left on his Charlton contract.
Does anyone really believe Robinson will see an increase on his spending budget, cause Tex has gone to another one of Roland's network clubs?10 -
Think Bauer is better than Tex but agree in the main, overrated. Remember Morison bullying him at the den and the valley twice in a month . How people rated him as our best CB is beyond me . The guy is shit . Think Bauer will do well alongside PearceCarter said:Behave, this guy was a classic regime signing. Do people seriously think Tex has given up a 4 year 12K a week contract to go and play at ST. There's no way ST would pay him anything near that. We have either had to give him a big pay off or we are still paying a large slice of his wages1

So we sell a high earner to another RD club as noone else is interesting and people are seriously think or are suggesting that Robinson is going to get the money to spend?
You actually believe that is feasible and not that it is a basic cost cutting excercise, nothing morr, am I missing something? we wont see bugger all of that money, sweet FA

I suspect the Tex calculation will be wrapped up in the loan fee, terms, and penalty clauses we need to have with Chelsea for da Silva, and in the mind of Duchatelet that settles the Tex finances.
Other signings will probably need fresh money, or sales still, and we certainly need some other signings before the season starts.0 -
Roland owns both clubs, why would he pay him off, he'd just transfer the contract to STVVcharltonnick said:Do people seriously think Tex has given up a 4 year 12K a week contract to go and play at ST. The regime in Belgium has been talking confidently about targeting a place in the top 6 (i.e. the Europa League play-offs). From their point of view, moving Tex and Ceballos over there would probably be seen as strengthening the STVV squad accordingly.
So do we now have the honour of being STVV's feeder club?8 -

The highlight of his time here was when he here the ball at that scum twat's head after the final whistle.
Other than that decent player but if he didn't want to be here and we wanted his wages off the books it's good that we are finally rid...1 -

Sold for £60m to St Truiden , Charlton now running at break even , well done Katrien , put that in your pipe and smoke it CARD and co18

We weren't basically down. I want to say we were five or six points off safety with 15 games to go or something like that. If we hadn't signed anyone you'd be all over the regime.ElfsborgAddick said:

He looked decent in the Championship. He was completely frozen out last year, didn't have a summer, and barely kicked a ball until Karl arrived. I wonder what might have happened with him if we'd embraced him as our player last season and let him play for his move in the first half. It's all academic now.4 -

It's always really hard to say with wages, but I suspect Reeves is commanding something not too far off this. He's coming on a free, which always inflates wage demands, plus he apparently has both League One and Championship suitors. Think he and Martin (again, a free) will command more combined easily.cafcfan1990 said:

Martin and Reeves are on nothing right now.Just guessing their wages at MK couldn't have been too substantial.
I agree with SD as above though, the interest in Reeves could possibly mean he is demanding an inflated salary, probably why he's currently without a club.0 -

Don't understand being happy losing Tex due to having too many CB's!
Didn't the MK fan on here say that Reeves was their highest earner , so must surely be in around £6k!?Henry Irving said:
