Dont wish injury on any player but shame this didnt happen after the Chelsea game
To be a part of the Man City | Man Utd | Chelsea games getting thrashed there would be no expectation and now with the added bonus of getting their Striker back.
Had he got injured after Chelsea they'd be even more fucked going into the winnable games
United (a) Chelsea (h) Newcastle (a) West Ham (h) Spurs (away)
Looks bleak.
3 of those games you'd expect them to lose anyway, it's the Newcastle and West Ham ones where they need to pick up at least 4 points
Yep, those two are key. After Spurs, they have a run of 8 games where they will inevitably pick up some points. Probably too much to hope for, but if they got to 18 November still winless with only a point on the board, you'd have to feel optimistic then. Apart from anything else, it would put huge, huge pressure on every remotely winnable fixture they encounter.
About time justice was done. Lucky tossers shouldn't be there in the first place.
feck me, whoever they stuck 4 past must have been really shit. Sunderland maybe?
Hull wasn't it - confirmed their relegation and Palace's safety. So in answer to your question, yes it was someone really shit, they're currently 17th in the Championship.
poor ol Roy H seems to have aged ten years over the past year (if yer ken wor I mean) .. another bad appointment, his credibility amongst the players and fans must be at a very low ebb .. Palace for the drop and they'll find it tough to get back up anytime soon
The current table isn't the point. They are not 4 points from safety when there's 32 games to go. At least wait until the teams have played each other once each.
They had 38 games to get about 35 points. Now they have 32 games to get to that total. And they haven't scored a goal. This is a brilliant start. I want us to keep enjoying it, but I can't handle the "they are only XX points from safety!" for the next 7 months!
I like your thinking Jimmy. Using your figures we can produce an index figure along the lines of a cricket run rate; if you don't keep up with the required rate it goes up and becomes harder to achieve. Using your 35 points as a likely survival target, from the start of the season they needed to pick up 0.92 points per game. Six games in and they now need to average 1.09 points per game. Keep losing and this figure will keep going up. Already one draw per game is not enough.
A variation of this is to look at the percentage of points available that they need. You get bigger numbers that way so it looks funnier. At the start of the season they needed 31% of all points available in order to survive; now it's 36%.
I'm enjoying this game. I don't understand people who say don't laugh at them because we're in a worse position than them. This is schadenfreude folks, you've got to take it anywhere you can. It's not about us, it's about them and I for one am thoroughly enjoying their pitiful start to the season.

Indeed Palace went into this season lacking cover up front. Luckily we wouldn't make the same mistake...
