The battle for hearts and minds won't be won by calling (or even thinking) people illiterate plebs.
On threads like this, the onus is on Remoaners like me to argue successfully against Brexit (or hard Brexit, or whatever we're currently fighting idk) and present the facts in a cogent and accessible way. It isn't for us to call each other idiots, no matter how much we want to, because that doesn't get anyone anywhere.
(If someone posts something completely ridiculous, like 'Brexit will cut our hospital waiting times and school waiting lists!!!' then I reserve the right to be a little terse)2 -

Agree. Neither will it be won by Brexiteers criticising people like me for bothering to check my assertions online before posting; posting the latest relevant economic data; or complaining when the politician charged with negotiating with the EU27 calls one such country by a name that is out of date by 25 years and implies that another such country does not exist. Even more will it not be won by explicitly or implicitly labelling people like me as part of some 'elite' on no better grounds than that I got a Grade 1 "O" level in English Language (and a year early, I'd have you know :-)). It works both ways and frankly, while personal abuse is always a sign that you've lost it, I've had a basinfull of the argument that I should rein it in because, it is assumed, I don't understand the lives of poor "disenchanted" Brexit voters. Such an argument is every bit as arrogant as those who dismiss Brexit arguments on the grounds that the person - as opposed to their stated position- is stupid.

Italy - a small decline
That's my leave vote in a nutshell. Quite which party to vote for to provide an economy land housing and pensions to support that god only knows. I am genuinely worried for my kids future and for our beautiful green spaces and countryside.1 -

This has been done to death. As far as population growth goes EU migration is the least of our concerns. I think if you look at immigration as an impact on population growth you have to look at our colonnial past and international presence. We will always have more people coming in than leaving.
What I find admirable and have a lot of respect for is those Briton’s who have decided to go and live in another country and culture. We are an island nation and that is in our history and culture, but I truly believe we are very insular in our thinking sometimes1 -
Woman on QT now having a pop at mark carney and the BBC for weakening our stance on Brexit and not getting behind it. You couldn’t make it up. What a silly mare. If Brexit is a good idea and will be a success, then mark carney and the bbc’s stance is irrelevant
