Lied over having porn on his Commons computer. What a numpty. First for looking at porn at work, then for lying about it when the truth was always going to come out with Old Bill on the case.

That’s not accurate. He mislead the press that he knew anything about it. When he had his lawyers on the case some years ago and then took a phone call about the allegations in 2013. He still denies the allegations including any improper advances towards the lady journalists.

Fair point. The headline I saw implied he'd lied about having the porn. Still short of the standards we should expect of those we ask to run the country.

Exactly. Good time to get rid being Christmas when most people have more important things to think about. It will be forgotten very quickly now. Losing him does weaken May though.

I don’t know when these people that get done for porn will learn
Make sure your work computer uses one search engine and your personal ones (including phones), uses another. That way when I’m at work and type ‘a’ into google, anal cheerleaders doesn’t come up as a search choice, and when I’m at home on my phone using yahoo, digital change and transformation doesn’t come up when I type in ‘d’
Green's misdemeanour of lying is trivial compared to the offence of the ex police officers making and keeping copies of, and making public, private information they retrieved that had no bearing on the case being investigated at the time and indicated no illegal activity. Their offence deserves jail time. It is deeply disturbing. I expect this sort thing happens all the time in religious police states like Pakistan and Iran. It is deeply deeply shocking it can happen here.
I am of the belief that the police should be able to access any computer or phone in the fight against terrorism. But in providing these powers to the police we must ensure they respect absolutely an individual's right to privacy. An important way this power can be monitored is to make it a crime with an automatic 10 year jail sentence for any police officer who is found to have made copies and or made public private information retrieved during the search of any device belonging to a private citizen or a public or private enterprise/organisation.
