I actually quite like a Josh. He’s a trier and works hard for the team. Not a natural goal scorer and his level is league one. If he’s signs for Chelsea I will get a tattoo of Josh on my arse.

    Probably

Don't laugh but I've heard from a very reliable source that this is genuine.

It's weird that you say that because I just read on Twitter that Chelsea are interested in our Josh.
It leaked to a handful of us. I was planning on sharing it after the move went through. I also know who RD is selling to and the date, but again I can't say until after it happens. That way you'll know my sources are reliable.
Thanks for the inbox, interesting names.

And thanks for passing it on Henry. Is that really how you spell his name ?

That's how it's spelt on his cheques.
  • What or who is more laughable.
1 Some silly kid creating a name on Twitter that shouldn’t but has lead people to think that he is Sky Sports.
2 Of all the players to link to Chelsea, Magennis.
3 66 people liked it more alarmingly 44 people rt it.
4 it has been posted on here.
5 we have even reacted to it even though we know it’s a kids tweet

Meh. Could he do it on a wet, windy night in Shrewsbury?
No - it keeps getting postponed
    Well played.

    Probably

    Me too.

The thing about liking Josh. Not the tattoo thing. I'm pretty sure you're safe there, but still.

Magennis has the presence and power of a Championship striker and the finishing of a League 2 centre-back

Here's the thing. He's had some misses this year, but I think his lack of finishing has been way overblown. Over the last couple months I'd argue the biggest problem has been creating chances for him, not him missing things. And I'd also say that Marshall putting it over the bar from Fosu's pullback was worse than Mag not finishing off his 1-v-1.

Also, what Mag does is really important to the team. He creates space for others to play in.
  • I’m prepared to remain patient with Josh, myself.

I like him and thought he looked much better against Walsall (the formation change probably helped!) but there's no denying he's missed some absolute stinkers this season. For several weeks now he's gotten a chance or two a game and missed the lot. But if he can feed those around him it won't matter so much

Over the last few months I would agree that he has had a lack of chances. Over the last few matches he has missed a couple that you would expect him to take. The problem with him creating space is that he is generally isolated up top on his own and we don’t take advantage

Although I like him, his miss at Wimbledon in the cup from 3 yards was one of the worst I’ve ever seen from a charlton player

52 shots this season, 27 on target, 5 goals (all headers?).

He should be doing better though he should also have better competition for his place. He's currently guaranteed a place and KR won't rest him.

There is a famous clip of him being interviewed after Chelsea played Shrewsbury in a cup game and he refers to them as "Strawberry"

Yes with 7. We just sold out 2nd top scorer. Then it's Foster-Caskey and Magennis on 5.

Not exactly blessed with goalscorers are we?

I can confirm this is likely to be true. I've checked the Chelsea "job vacancies" page and they are indeed looking for a part-time hall porter for the on-site hotel.

Still think Magennis is a decent striker on a very bad run and had lost a lot of striking confidence the last couple of months.

But he will come good again, he just needs that goal

He’s low on confidence for sure but I think league 1 is his level, he’s not an intelligent striker.

Take the one on one he had, he never raised his head to look, simply head down, run and shot at the keeper. An intelligent striker would have looked up, maybe given the keeper a false eye, opened his body, dropped a shoulder etc. Fosu, MAvidi, even Jackson would have finished that.

    Unless he's playing against us
  • Not sure why people are digging Josh out? Doesn't deserve it.

I thought he played well on Saturday - just needs a break.
