Sophie Whitehouse called up for the Republic of Ireland, and Mia Ross and Mary McAteer called up for Wales.2

Delighted to be part of the FSA (Football Supporters’ Association) delegation meeting with WSL Football today to ensure fans’ views help to shape the future of the professional game. Managed to drop in a little brag about us being top of WSL2 of course.

Another month, another Sophie Whitehouse save (against Birmingham) to vote for as Save of the Month

I think immense credit needs to go to the manager. I have watched a few games and they don't look better than last season but they don't concede which is the key to their success. Considering that the budget was cut, you have to say very well done to all those involved.5

Southampton away in the League Cup (not broadcast live, unfortunately)

Some familiar names on the other side.

0-0 at half-time. We've hit the post, but quite even so far.1

We were outplayed in the second half but this lot just never know when they're beaten.3

A shame it was a dead rubber but good to be able to make changes and keep momentum going

Don't some runners-up go through?0 -
Nope. Five group winners plus the poor little lambs who can’t cope because they’re in the champions league.Yorkshireaddick said:fenaddick said:A shame it was a dead rubber but good to be able to make changes and keep momentum going

is it not the 3 best second places through to the quarter finals as well. After 4 games Charlton women on 9pts and not top because of goal difference. in the other groups only one other two other teams can get to 9pts in second place.0

The competition keeps the same format as the previous season, starting with a group stage split regionally. Teams competing in the UEFA Women's Champions League group stage are exempt from the League Cup group stage, earning a provisional bye to the quarter-finals. As a result, the initial group stage draw made on 30 July 2025 featured 21 of the 24 teams.[3] The three teams excluded from the draw were Arsenal and Chelsea, who automatically entered the Champions League group stage, and Manchester United who advanced in the Champions League qualifying rounds, therefore joining the League Cup at the quarter-final stage.
The first place team in each of the five groups qualifies for the knockout stage.

Only three women’s teams have ever won the league cup: Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd 🤔0

I was a bit confused by who gets to the quarter-finals, not helped by the BBC page with the tables (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/fa-wsl-cup/table) showing lines around first and second in each group and saying at the bottom "Position 2: Possible Quarter-finals". I guess that was because when the draw was made, they didn't know if Manchester United would be in the Champions League (they had to get through a qualifier), and if they hadn't qualified - and then been in this group stage as a result - maybe the best second-place team in the group stage would have gone through?
Still, look on the bright side: that unforgettable 3-0 win over Portsmouth means we even managed a positive goal difference despite the West Ham game

Yes, in a year when there are only 2 English clubs in the group stages in Europe there's an extra place in the QFs for the best second-placed club.EpsomAddick said:I was a bit confused by who gets to the quarter-finals, not helped by the BBC page with the tables (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/fa-wsl-cup/table) showing lines around first and second in each group and saying at the bottom "Position 2: Possible Quarter-finals". That's true for the WSL League Cup, but if you include the pre-2011 version when it was run by the old Women's Premier League there have been other winners, including us twice.Weegie Addick said:Only three women’s teams have ever won the league cup: Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd 🤔0 -
Yes, sorry, should have been clearer on that.Swindon_Addick said:

The FA Cup draw is at 7pm tonight. I'm told it will be streamed live on the Channel 4 YouTube channel and also on the Women's FA Cup YouTube, as well as being live on TNT.Swindon_Addick said:23 Nov: Southampton, league cup, away, 2pm. At Eastleigh FC. £5 adult, £2 under-18. Tickets from here.
24 Nov (Mon): draw for Round 3 of the FA Cup
30 Nov: week off, international weekend. England play friendlies against China at Wembley Sat 29th and Ghana at Southampton Tues 2nd. Tickets are on general sale from the Wembley website.
7 Dec: Portsmouth, away, 2pm. At Havant & Waterlooville FC. £8 adult, £6 over-64, £2 under-18, £1 under-14. Tickets from here.
14 Dec: FA Cup round 3. Venue and timing TBC.
21 Dec: Nottingham Forest, home, 2pm. At the Valley. £7 adult, £5 over-65, £2 under-18. Tickets from usual website.
The Forest game on the 21st will mark the half way point of the season and the start of the two week winter break. The next game after that will be Ipswich away on 11 Jan.
The 30 November international break doesn't feature any home games for the Addicks' Welsh players - Wales are playing both their games in Spain.3 -
The nominations keep coming:
Charlotte Newsham nominated for WSL2 Player of the Month
https://www.wslfootball.com/bwsl2-potm-nov-25
Jodie Hutton's goal v Southampton nominated for WSL2 Goal of the Month
https://www.wslfootball.com/bwsl2-gotm-nov-25
Not convinced Hutton's goal deserves to win, given the mess the keeper made of it, but worth voting anyway.2 -
Apparently split via region so we will face one of the Southern Sides:Swindon_Addick said:
