How good does this look?9 -
They're all big games, but next up is Bristol City, beat them and other results go our way and we can be 7 points clear by the close of play next time out1
-
Pretty crazy that 2nd place has conceded more goals than 1st place has scored.fenaddick said:

Oh no! I hope she heals well & you're not run off your feet Nursey 😘OhMyGodden said:
I should have been, but the wife decided to twist her ankle getting off the coach at services on the way to Wrexham yesterday, so she can't walk much today. My job to play nurse nowKBslittlesis said:Anyone going today?
I'm so excited 😊

This is my take from this game. We defo need some stronger players in midfield. Far too easily pushed off the ball.lordromford said:Although we’re two up, one thing I’m noticing that’s a bit concerning today is we seem to be quite easily muscled off of the ball. We’ve clearly got some handy players, but maybe we’re lacking a bit of strength, especially in midfield. If we improved there, we’d be dominating games much more.
Lobato played very well, I think cos she knew I'd flown over 🇮🇪
I think McAteer should start, she's a pocket rocket.
Their keeper had a mare & I'd like to think we knew her fragility.
I'm a very happy Addick 😊4 -
Well, the worst best team does it again. A little disappointed that we conceded given not letting in soft goals is the thing we do best but can't really complain with another win against a good attacking side. Forest v Birmingham tomorrow is essentially win-win for us as the worst it can do is keep Birmingham on our tails while opening up a gap between us and the promotion spots. Don't want to be finishing 3rd though so a nice draw will suit me. Next week will be a big game, a high scoring team against the misery merchants and hopefully we can sting them with another 1-0 win and really open a gap up2

Shall I get it now (with the WSL.2 patches) or shall I wait for the merch!

Having watched the Bristol City highlights from yesterday it might come crashing down next Sunday.JustFloydRoad said:Shall I get it now (with the WSL.2 patches) or shall I wait for the merch!

Things are certainly going well for CAFCW so far!
CASTrust spoke to Danni Fairbair, a volunteer photographer for the squad, about how a curious hobby has blossomed into a creative journey that’s giving female footballers the recognition they deserve.

Lots of players rested and a full debut for Chime. Barrayt, Nelson-Iye and Johnson must be from the PGA too unless I’m mistaken

1-0, McAteer with the customary Charlton stunner from the sounds of it4

I swear at the end of this season they're going to find that Charlton have been dabbling in some really intense witchcraft because that's at least our last 5 goals that can be put down to goalkeeper errorfenaddick said:
Just saw the goal, it is appalling. Her shot is so bad it bounces in the middle of the six yard box but somehow the keeper misses it. They all countfenaddick said:1-0, McAteer with the customary Charlton stunner from the sounds of it5 -
Delighted to see Newsham come off at half time, she’s played a lot of football1
-
Hanging on. Look all over the place at the back this half. Hit the bar through Bissell with basically our only attack. Otherwise camped in our own box. Brighton have hit the post, and 2 good saves from Pedersen.0
-
Full time 1-0. Not sure how we won that, mixture of some great saves from Pedersen and poor finishing from Brighton.2
-
FT. Fantastic result3

Having just seen it, I feel that's a bit harsh. I don't think it's a shot - it's a decent cross into a dangerous area, and Gracie Pearse going for the ball puts doubt in the keeper's mind. Anything can happen in that situation.fenaddick said:

Certainly a big improvement on the 5 conceded the last time we played WSL opposition, even if a bit of luck was involved. And it's good to know Pedersen is a decent shot-stopper, in case Sophie Whitehouse ever gets injured.0 -

Great result. Not sure how strong the Brighton team was as I don't know whether, like the men, top teams play weaker sides in cup games. Nevertheless fantastic to travel away to a team from a higher division and win.1

You’re right, it’s a great result. But It’s a bit of a shame that the final game in the group is pretty much a dead rubber though as West Ham are 3 points clear of 2nd (and 3rd) with a goal difference superior by 7 (and 10).LenGlover said:Great result. Seems a bit harsh that only the top team in each table go through while the three best teams in England get a bye to the quarter finals because they’re in the Champions League. When you consider all the WSL1 (and WSL2 to a lesser extent) teams are making wholesale changes for these matches, it doesn’t seem likely that Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U would’ve stretched their squads to the limit by being involved earlier.

We were also in the only group with 5 teams instead of 4, so an even slimmer chance of winning the grouplordromford said:

Can’t make it to The Valley today and not able to watch on YouTube either so updates here much appreciated! COYA0

Bright start from us so far0

That Bristol City penalty appeal would have been soft but I’ve seen them given. Think we’re lucky it was just a pull on the arm rather than the shirt0
-
Good save from Whitehouse and then the post saves us conceding from the rebound1
-
Good game. Feels quite even, we've had some good passing moves that are resulting in corners not shots. Bristol have had fewer attacking moves but have come closer to scoring. 0-0 at half time.2

Penalty Addicks, Muya bundled over1
