White house up there in the line of Great Charlton goal Keepers. She one hell of an example to the current men's keepers, she is so calm.

    Brilliant stuff!

Is there a big difference in tv money/sponsorship in WSL? Will the owners need to put their hands deeper into their pockets to make the team competitive at the level above?
TV income is about £10-£15m split between the clubs which is the main one.

I think the hope would be to increase attendances significantly.

Average WSL club gets £5-7m revenue per season but that’s massively skewed by the big clubs.

We will have the smallest budget in the league by quite some way due to the similar financial restrictions in relation to only being able to spend a percentage of revenue on the squad and our revenue will be tiny.

I think owners can eject some equity outside the rules, so realistically they will need to do that if there is any hope.

Has there ever been a player so intrinsic to a promotion campaign than our Sophie? God-like season!

I hope the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea next season attract large crowds at the Valley. Potentially 15kish?

Depends on how they split the stands, games like that will be "high profile" so may need proper segregation etc.

I've been to the Emirates for WSL games. They have an away section, but most of the rest of the ground was unsegregated as well except from the loud Arsenal section. Assume there isn't a need for segregation so likely to be okay?

All depends on how they see it, whilst it's a payday for the club, having 90% of the fans in there supporting Arsenal won't be a nice time, so I can see them giving them the Curbs and JS and us the Covered End and West, for instance. Of course it won't stop neutrals but at least that way you keep the home side of the ground mainly for us

Have watched half the women's games online this season, today's game followed a familiar pattern - good possession but which often doesn't end with a good chance, and tight at the back.

Fantastic scenes at the end - couldn't have left it any later in the season to get over the line!

Great viewing for the tv audience, even if the quality wasn't always the best, the prize and the drama was.

Looks like a real party going on in SE7, happy days.

As an aside, one of the Leicester players just jumped in a cab infront of me, going straight to Gatwick! Didn't waste any time getting out of dodge

    Terrific.
    So pleased for all involved.

Not a criticism in any way, d'you think the crowds will be a lot bigger next season at The Valley or just a small increase ?

    PWR.

Remarkable! Sophie Whitehouse was brilliant and the rest of them stuck to the task well in adverse conditions. It felt like we wanted it more and weren’t going to give up.

The strength of Leicester was epitomised by a bench containing Ashley Neville and Rachael Williams to name but two, both of whom have been in or around the national squad previously. I feared for us when they came on but we kept doing our stuff and eventually prevailed!

    COYR girls!!!!!!!!!!!

After the season they have had it would have been a tough pill to swallow if they hadn’t won today. What a way to do it though ! Charlton never do it easy lol congratulations to them all.

Whitehouse deserves a statue ! Before that shootout I would have backed her to save 2 but 4 ? Hope we keep hold of her

Six London sides in the WSL so that alone should bump attendances

Well done to the women. Stumbled over the line but made it and a deserving reward for the season. Sophie Whitehouse, take a bow.
  • First class. Congratulations to all. Fantastic for the profile of the club as a whole.
