The season over comments are a bit over the top. We are two points off the play offs with two games in hand. We will spend time in the play off places again this season and we will spend time outside of them. I think we will fall short but until that happens, our season isn’t over
To say we were awful doesn’t do Shrewsbury any credit because they were head and shoulders better than us but we were still bloody awful. Solly and Pierce had stinkers . Kaikai can bugger off back to Palace and if Marshall has actually gone past a single defender this season I will be shocked . Another season in league one is inevitable.
Well that was shit. Just got home, first game for two of my grandkids plus nephew. Apart from the first five minutes we were outplayed and out managed for the whole game. I said to my mates after 30 minutes that if Robinson doesn't change something then it is only a matter of time before we concede. Be proactive not reactivate for once. But no .He waits until we go behind before making a change and then we are chasing the game. From what I have seen this season Blackburn Wigan and Shrewsbury are miles ahead of us in every department. I don't expect to reach the playoffs and even if we do we will not get promoted.
Roland out.
And until he can come up with something better with the players at his disposal Robinson out as well.

Don't know how long you've been around bud but sometimes you just know. Trust me. This season's over.

To be fair, one of the games in hand is against this lot at their place. MIND YOU we're doing better away than at home at the moment. Hard to see how we'll get much at theirs, but it worked at Wigan
Second half was shameful - this is league one ffs.
Players ran around like headless chickens and looked clueless - are they really that bad or is it down to the manager? Kashi and Solly were shocking - Kashi seems incapable of even making a basic pass and Solly barely made a tackle.
Players and manager should be ashamed of themselves after that display.
Can't wait for some of our happy clappy supporters to excuse this one....
To be fair even though we wasn't great they were good and made us look worse. We weren't really worse than we were against Wimbledon down here. Only difference Shrewsbury are on a promotion push and Wimbledon are in a relegation dog fight. Even if they beat us next week they are in a dog fight till the end of the season.
If we scrape into the play offs, you have to hope that Shrewsbury go up automatically because they took us to school today.
They were better than Wigan, and compared to us they were better prepared, better managed, better supported, had better players, better teamwork and were all round excellent and thoroughly deserved their win. They even had to deal with the disruption of an early substitution, and the disappointment of a penalty miss.
Shrewsbury scored an excellent unstoppable first goal, their second was like the one we conceded against MKD and they stopped us doing what we wanted.
All right we dominated the first five minutes, but contemplating the game as a whole now i'm home, I think we would have lost even if we had taken an early lead.
Shrewsbury are certainly the real deal and in my view the best team we have played by a bit of a margin. credit to the Shrews and everybody connected to them and I would love them to win promotion.
Obviously this ranks as yet another let down so typical of this season, and life under this regime, and not many of the extra people in on cheap tickets today will be coming back.
We have to somehow blag our way into the play offs, which will fit in with the general approach of the club at the moment, try to blag it. I mean am I the only one who felt we were poorly prepared today? More disruption, chopping and changing generally and the result is that we can't turn games into contests. if our skilled players in games can dominate from time to time, fine, but the concept of engagement with what is often put in front of us seems lost. Charlton can't establish a kind of style in a bubble, and hope that when it is good it does the job, we have to compete, we have to respect what is in front of us, and then try to wear it down to a defeat, man by man, situation by situation, game by game, and we are not set up to do that.
By contrast we get sussed out time after time by opponents who then establish the right tactics and strategy, and maximise what they have and cancel out what we have.
It isn't only today, but Shrewsbury were the paradigm example of a proper competitive team in this division, but so many others have that mindset too (Shrewsbury are the best of them) but it is sometimes as if other teams are playing in league one to get points, whereas we are playing a kind of football which is about theoretical experimentation.
Had to follow from this site and BBC whilst at work. Not surprised we’ve bottled it in a big game. I don’t think we’ve got the mentality to get that final play off spot. Overall, we are too easy to play against.
I wish I didn’t book my Bristol & Northampton train tickets last night.
Thank you Mr Robinson Charlton were rubbish Shrewsbury were good. Thanks because 26th May is our Ruby Wedding and I didn’t want to book anything in case the team were at Wembley, having watched our first and last game this season I can now book a few days away in the country as none of us will be going to Wembley. As for the match others have already echoed by thoughts
Robinson says we didn't stick to the game plan. The players were warned not to go sideways and backwards as it would encourage Shrewsbury's press.
We play backwards and sideways EVERY game though - Any opposition watching us will always tell their players to press because its happens each week.
In that case Robinson, they are doing this because you've told them to do it so often, its probably become habit for them, seeing that you're unable to change tactics as and when needed!!
Other than the first 3 minutes we may aswell have not bothered. Today just shows how poor we have become, Shrewsbury bossed it in every part of the pitch. Credit to Shrewsbury too deserve to be up where they are.
We are not going anywhere. If we don't make play offs Karl has to go.
We'll finish about 7th or 8th yet a spot in the Play-Offs will be pointless as dont see this squad going to Wembley... they dont have the goals in them!!
I like Robinson but we must be the easist team to train for. We never change how we set up or our tactics, which rely on individual brilliance. I think he deserves a go under a decent owner but even with a blank cheque book (if they still exist) the same problems will hinder us.
Comments
After their keeper made two very good stops in the first few minutes he was largely a spectator.
Outthought and outfought. Closed down our midfield and isolated our players when they had the ball.
They looked like a team, we looked like a collection of individuals.
Credit to Shrewsbury who fully deserved their win.
If the new owners were watching they must at least be questioning Robinson's ability to get us in to, let alone win, the play-offs.
Aribo bullied, Kashi poor, Kaikai must be wondering why he choose us over Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury fans must be glad he did.
Just not good enough.
Absolute dross.

With the run-in that we have we’ll finish 8-12th I reckon.

ANYONE?

Totally outplayed the rest of the game by a fitter, better organised, more motivated and smarter side.
Pretty much everyone was poor apart from Aribo.
Don't agree our season is over but it will be if we meet Shrewsbury in the play-offs. Very impressed with them.
Enjoy yer scran big man.
