Worst Duchatelet Era 18

Can you thin it down to just eighteen? Who to leave out? Who's simoky not quite bad enough to get in the starting eleven, but deserves a place on the bench?

What's the worst team you can pick from the players that have played under the Duchatalet regime?

Don't know about the whole 18, but off the top of my head I'd say that Thuram, Williams and Lepoint must be absolute shoe-ins for this squad.

Yes. Played his last match for us on Boxing day 2012.

Polish Pete doesn't qualify imo - one appearance as sub, where i'm not certain he even did anything particularly remarkable.

Amazing how many full internationals are getting picked in the worst team to represent Charlton in the club's worst period.

Frimpong was pre-regime. By coincidence his last game was the same as Danny Seabourne (see above).

I had completely forgotten that Bergdych ever existed

Oguchi Onyewu is worth a mention. A 16-game winless run, hemorrhaging goals, Andre Bikey's completely forgotten how to tackle, pass or stand up, but you still can't get a game. In those circumstances, you've got to be pretty poor.

4 minutes of football in return for an £800k transfer fee and a 4 and a half year contract that we tore up less than half way through. He should be first name on the teamsheet, and Simon Church shouldn't be anywhere near it.

Chicksen and Harriott, even Church are ridiculous choices. Did you not watch the first 2 years he owned us? Not even close to the worst.

In many ways there haven't been that many bad players under RD, but rather players who were unsuitable to English football and weren't given time to settle, or were unfit/past it/disinterested when they signed

Reza for example was hopeless for us, but has done enough elsewhere to suggest some talent. Lepoint has had a decent career in Belgium, ditto Nego in Hungary and Polish Pete in the Netherlands

If you buy players just on stats, you end up with such players

    Can we include Anil Koc?

Joseph Dodoo at least worth a place on the bench.

"I think fans will like him, he is quick, can stretch the game and get in behind defenders" - one of my highlights from Karl's lengthy selection of bullshits this season.

    Thuram
    Motta Johnson Williams Bergdich
    Petrucci Poyet2 LePoint Ba
    Tucudean VazTe

 Reza  was never gonna be in the worst side, he clearly had quality but didn't like the physicality of the Championship. He was used to being one of the rougher players as shown in the World Cup.

Thuram, he was so bad I can’t think of anything else.
  • Surely Koc and Fanni must be included. Just about sums it all up.
  • Being serious, all the years I have watched Charlton by miles the worst performance by anyone is given to Lepoint..

I think he was questioning the inclusion. At least that's what I thought when I saw Byrne's name.

Oh well in that case, he was just a poor part of our worst ever team under Roland.
