Seven league games left. Win all ten and we're up.

    You're like a broken record!

If it happens we'll have broken records!

    For the second time.

    That'd be a neat trick...

    Scored 1-0 Pompey

Goal! Portsmouth 1, Wigan Athletic 0. Brett Pitman (Portsmouth) converts the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner.

    (with apologies to Ross1)

    .
  • Could do without a Pompey win tonight!
  • 2-0 Pompey
  • Balls looks like it will be as 2-0

Like I said the other day, just need to keep matching everyone's results and we'll be fine

Kiss of death Pompey 2 Wigan 0 after an hour :disappointed: .
  • Biggest fear from this would be Wigan missing out on the autos
  • Could’ve done without this result....still time for Wigan
  • Grigg now on - why was he only on the bench when this is one of their harder games? Their next 2 games are against MKD and Rochdale

Happy to continue to be so. Because I am going to keep posting it as the equation gets easier and easier.
  • We only have to win one more game to guarantee promotion.

    Bad timing!

They have got games in hand over the clubs above them

  • 5 minutes of added time
  • I'd rather the shrews go up than Wigan. Unfortunately one of the top threes are going to enter the playoffs in a fairly negative frame of mind.
  • FT Pompey 2 Wigan 1

  • 3rd Shrewsbury
    4th Charlton
    5th Rotherham
    6th Portsmouth

Is how it'll finish, reckon there will be one or two points between 4th and 8th come the end
  • A bad day for Scunthorpe and Plymouth as the 3 teams below them all win and go above them...

Bristol Rovers can be discounted from the playoff race now after their defeat to Fleetwood. Sheridan is doing a great job there incidentally, they're up to 13th now

We would probably have to get results away to Shrewsbury and Pompey for that sinario. Tough ask
  • Six teams for three places. Charlton, Portsmouth and Plymouth appears to be the form team out of us 6. Another 10 points should allow us to make the plays off.

All we can do is keeping winning and go into the play offs with some decent form.
  • Fitness management will become a big thing for the next few games. Our next five are Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday Saturday and the last 3 of those five are Scunthorpe at home, the Shrewsbury away (which I think is our game in hand) and then Pompey away. 2 six pointers towards the end of a run of fixture congestion. If everyone is fit, we've got the squad to manage it, but we've seen how hard it has been to keep everyone fit.

If we win those 3 games, I reckon that'll be enough on it's own to get into the playoffs, but we should be aiming at 4th place.
  • A bad day for Scunthorpe and Plymouth as the 3 teams below them all win and go above them...

Even if Scunny v Argyle had played today, they couldn't have both won.

And a draw would have felt a bit like a defeat for both teams, as they both would have in any case dropped out of the play off positions.
