We're not going to finish 3rd or 4th, thought these teams had the second leg at home.
    They do.

5th or 6th if we make the play offs - means home first leg.

    Yes
  • So, i reckon Shrewsbury away on 16th.
Lux to Birmingham airport is easy and Shewsbury is easy commute from Birmingham airport.-getting back is the hassle.
  • I wonder how Sky determine which is A or which is B. Would they want the biggest attraction on weekend? ie us?

Both play off semis have a leg on the weekend. One on Sat 12th and the other on Sun 13th.

Play off final date is 27th May, I fly from Gatwick at 9am on a 9 hr flight with no Internet.

    Complete knob.

Booked 4 ST holders on Same holiday.

I may have mentioned it on another thread but the play off final coincides with my holiday too. The thought of possibly missing Charlton at Wembleymy holiday and my wife and kids is a killer.....

I would have thought that 3v6 would be A, but who knows.

Someone has already said that Rotherham's ground is being used for the Euro U17 Championships on the 13th so means that A Fixtures will be 3rd v 6th

I always make a point of booking holiday/weddings/births/funerals on the exact dates of the playoffs for the division Charlton are in.

  • if were a can make the away game

if were b can make the home game and the away game
  • We will be match B (should we make it) - Shit KO time in leg one, clashing with Europa League final in leg two. Plus they are two days when I have work that will potentially clash with the games, the other two I am free...

Would mean our home leg is Saturday though which we may be able to draw a bigger crowd for.

Is game 2 with a 6th place finish then?
  • So... pulling all of the above together, we have:

    Thursday 10 May 7.45pm (League One A)
    6th vs Shrewsbury

    Saturday 12 May 12.30pm (League One B )
    5th vs Rotherham

    Sunday 13 May 5.15pm (League One A)
    Shrewsbury vs 6th.

    Wednesday 16 May 7.45pm (League One B )
    Rotherham vs 5th.

    ————

This is based on Shrews finishing 3rd and Rotherham 4th. It takes into account that Rotherham have a Euro U17 game at their stadium on 13th and so must play in schedule B.

Shrewsbury have definitely got third, reckon Rotherham cant be caught in fourth

Charlton can get a maximum of 74-points now (will be two short)
Scunthorpe can get a maximum of 76-points* yet Rotherham have to lose every game now
Plymouth can get a maximum of 76-points* yet will also need Rotherham to lose every game

*Remember Scunthorpe v Plymouth means that both sides cant end on 76-points
  • So... pulling all of the above together, we have:

    Thursday 10 May 7.45pm (League One A)
    6th vs Shrewsbury

    Saturday 12 May 12.30pm (League One B )
    5th vs Rotherham

    Sunday 13 May 5.15pm (League One A)

    Wednesday 16 May 7.45pm (League One B )
    Rotherham vs 5th.

Still don't know. All I do know is I can only make the 10th....grrrrr

Think A would be the better semi final for us. The Valley under lights and in this form could be a huge advantage for us.

In contrast, I can't remember the last time we played well and got a result in an early kick off match.
  • Never understood why they have to cram both play off legs in so soon after a long season ends but then (if you're in the first semi) you get 2 weeks until the final.

Why can't the 1st leg be the weekend after the season ends, 2nd leg the following weekend then the final the following weekend?

I guess it's purely for tv, but i'm sure they could manage to arrange the 6 play off games from the 3 divisions, across a friday night, saturday 12.30, saturday 5.30, sunday 12.30, 2.30 and 4.30pm
