Hi again, spent a very humbling hour with Melissa, Billi her daughter and young TJ at our local radio station earlier today. Hearing first hand her day to day work load and yet how grateful she is for what you/we/I did for her knocked me sideways. Throughout the interview I couldn't make eye contact with her for fear of completely falling apart, the radio station is now also using its powers of persuasion to contact/influence people so hopefully we can still make some headway on this already fantastic figure of almost 2k, thanks again.

I just been told the Radio station has just been in touch to spec the chair needed by TJ and hopefully followed by a realistic quote. Someone on here is also helping in the same way and dealing with Melissa directly. Thanks @MuttleyCAFC

Wow wow wow....i have just caught up from all the comments and what Ray has said. I did wonder why he didn't look in my direction at the radio!!! I know why now. I have to admit I'm sobbing here reading everyone's kind words and we would love to come up and meet you all when we get his new wheels. I'll even get him a football shirt to match you all

I don't, the last update I had was someone/people from here were trying to help with grants (I believe) and the local radio station that got involved have utilised their resources and are trying to get grants. I have spoke to Melissa and she will bring the family to The Valley next season to meet and thank those that helped from here. Obviously with TJ's requirements it will take some organising but without you all he would be nowhere near getting a chair let alone what has been raised towards the bed so I know she wants to do it. :)

Thanks. Fingers crossed that some grant money sorts that out. Kudos for a brilliant job in highlighting Melissa's plight and getting her help.

Thanks, but I just came on here asking for help and advice on how we could point Melissa in the right direction. Then, Charlton fans took over. :)

Melissa emailed me tonight. I put her case forward to a charity called 52 Lives. She has been accepted and they are going to make her one of their lives. www.52-lives.org. Should make a real difference.

As an aside to this, it looks as though the radio station that sponsors my dogs has found another benefactor prepared to help in some way. Melissa is working so hard, everything from selling sweets to walking over the O2. A wonderful lady and true inspiration.

Only just seen this. Happy to make a donation and hope the little man gets everything he needs.

To everyone that has gone above and beyond donating, you're an inspiration.
