I'm loving this WC thanks to the time difference between China and Russia being only five hours. I've so far watched 12 live games. That's a lot for me. Usually I only get to watch no more than 5 in every major tournament. At my office we were talking about China hosting the WC but our football team has been so poor in the past decade it probably won't happen even when I reach retirement!
That didn't stop Qatar...
I'm sure it won't be long until we get a Chinese World Cup. Probably 2034 after Uruguay-Argentina in 2030!
It’ll be Mexico’s chance to have another turn by then.

China will surely be the next Asian hosts. Qatar are Asian, so Asia's turn won't be for a while yet (assuming other regions want the WC)

I read that South and North Korea are potentially proposing a joint bid for 2030, but they'll never get it as it's too soon after Qatar.
England are also interested in 2030 too, but i think Uruguay will get it as it'll be the centenary of the first one.
do love everyone getting behind the team but some of the celebrations were a bit ott i mean it was panama, watched in tooting in a pub garden which was good atmosphere nothing too mad, clapham high street was good afterwards everyone singing etc, local pubs in bexleyheath majority after monday night were over 25s only.
Loving the celebrations. This country needs a week off if we win the World Cup. Had a bloke on my street singing 'Eng-er-land' for about two hours completely on his own last night, all while kicking a lamp post. Wasn't even annoyed that I couldn't sleep because of it.

love the celebrations but the birds that go to the pub take all the staffs time by ordering ridiculous drinks then proceed to video the whole pub adding a caption like " scenes " does get annoying as does throwing your pint everytime we score, scotland away i ended about 5 rows in front when we broke there hearts but that is different.

I'm surprised, given the political instability there.
South Korea had the World Cup (with Japan) in 2002 anyway, surely too soon?
Means the gap between South Korea hosting is only four years less than United States hosting
The US is 6 times larger though. It would be impossible to have a World Cup in North/Central America without going back to the US (or Mexico) whereas Asia is full of countries who haven't held it yet. China and India for a start
I would much prefer a high-pitched female commentator than the drivel Mark Lawrenson comes out with for example.
Some people are just feeling threatened that a female is getting work and on TV. I mean, what has Jason Cundy ever done in broadcasting in comparison to others?
Don't have a problem at all with female commentators if their delivery is good enough. The woman that commentated the other day, Vicki Sparks I think, was just a monotonous drone that was painful to listen to.
Comments
Uruguay v Spain/Portugal
France v Argentina
Brazil v Germany
England/Belgium v Colombia
Will be some big teams out by the time we get to the quarters.
I think this all automatically points to the fact that football is indeed coming home.

iran/portgual vs uruguay

Would mean Russia v Portugal and Uruguay v Spain..
