Don't care what he changes as long as the defence and keeper stays in place. Let them have a proper test against Belgium.
if Lukaku, Hazard, De Bruyne and possibly even Mertins don't start will it be THAT much of a test? Batsuyai and Fellani leading the line doesn't exactly strike fear in the heart lol
Twice the test of Tunisia and Panama. Plus we won't control the game, so shape etc come into play.
It's strange that there are no English refs in this WC.
I read before the tournament its because our chosen ref was Mark Clatenburg but he left England FA to go to Saudi Arabia and as all refs had already been chosen for the world cup and was halfway through their training that we couldn't replace him for another.
Realistically they're going to need an Argentina 1-0 win yet be interesting to see how Iceland do today
Iceland beat Croatia 1-0 the last time they played each other which was in the same Qualification Group for this World Cup and so meant that it was Croatia who had to go down the Play-Off Route
Of course the fact that Gudmundsson is now injured is probably a big blow as they wont have his crossing ability now
I've decided Brazil are going to win the competition on the basis of their dodgy result against Switzerland in their first game, just like Spain had in 2010.
As much as I'd prefer England to finish second, I'd also like to see how we shape up against Belgium but not to the risk of players being knackered for the knockout rounds. Tough decision for Southgate.
Walker and RLC are on yellows so I'm sure they won't play for a start
Unless he plans to use RLC in the latter rounds, but not in the round of 16, so could be useful therefore for him to get a yellow now and the ban out of the way. Probably a long shot, but a possibility never-the-less.
denmark and nigeria win today and ill be delighted, with roy keane on bollocks to giving people and opportunity to play for the sake of it. would rest the players on bookings and that's it.
Might be a good game for Danny Rose to get some fitness back too as he looked well off the pace on Sunday. Dier and/or Delph may get a game and I'd expect Kane to be rested for Vardy or Rashford.

Ah yes Roy Keane. The man for whom playing in the world cup meant so much.
No room for loyalty and playing players for the sake of it. They understand we are there to win the World Cup - not give everybody a go. Momentum is very important - the only players to rest in the starting line up would be those carrying knocks - by all means make subs in the second half but don't treat the Belgiulm game as anything other than one we have to win! Winning is a habit!

So only one English ref was chosen? Still a bit strange. IIRC some countries have more than one ref in this WC (video reviewing refs included)?
Looks like France are following suit with the other already qualified teams with 6 changes today.
Hard to know what's a reserve side with France anyway. Their squad is so strong.
Yeah I don't think Dechamps even knows his best 11 - be interesting to see how things change without Pogba in the middle.
I do think this shows that there must be at least a percieved advantage to utilising the squad if the opportunity presents itself, as evidenced by literally every already qualified team resting players for match 3. Suppose we will see how the likes of Spain, Portugal and Brazil who don't have the option cope in the latter stages as compared to France/Belgium/Uruguay who did.
France playing very wishy washy tippy tappy outside the box like Spain did last night - oh and look surprise surprise one long ball over the top and theres a good chance... (even if it was offside!)
