15 of those have contracts expiring next summer.
Two, Solly and Clarke, will be returning from long term injuries
Vetokele has been on loan for two seasons.
We also have 20 players in the development squad.
We have only two keepers across the two squads.
There is little specialist cover for the full back positions especially right back although Zonsa and Dijksteel can both play there.
I'd prescribe the following signings between now and August 31st: 2 x goal keepers, 1 x defender, 4 x midfielders, 1 x striker
I'm assuming Kashi might stay. I also think that as both Marshall and Clarke are over 30 it might be wise to replace them.
The new owners are thus looking at injecting £3-4m into the squad to get us up to the level of a guaranteed promotion. Let's hope it isn't like the Australian takeover of Homebase which collapsed this week.....
Bloody crazy, and a huge, huge job to do within two months. That includes the completion of the takeover, bringing in a SMT, appointing a permanent manager, signing players, assembling a squad, sorting out contracts etc.
Roland really has and will have left us in such a state.
Big job to do now and only 10 weeks to do it in.
Thursday 9th August at 5pm for permanent signings.
Football League clubs can sign players on loan up until 31st August.
You can also sign someone on loan and make it permanent when the January window opens.
Players can leave outside the window if they move to a league where their window is still open.

There may be more to come from Marshall, while Clarke, when fit, is one of our better players and is also of a type we do not otherwise have.
In an ideal world, we would build a team in Div One that would do well in the Championship. In practice I think it is better to concentrate on getting promoted first, even if that means playing less sophisticated but more rugged and experienced players, then rebuild again once up.
I think what SCP did when he rebuilt, picking up quality players on frees or for minimal fees, is no longer possible. You might find two or three, but not seven or eight like he did.
Premier League have demanded that the Window close before the season starts yet the window remains open nearly a week after the Football League season starts so they can still cherry pick anyone if they want

cue Oxford fans giving KR pelters in mid August
Yes it was Leeds' fault for leaving it late to accept a bid. Yet a Premier League side could be targeting a player all summer, that player could then throw a strop and engineer a move after the first game of the season... Its them up to the club to decide whether to keep an unhappy player or cash in on them - Half the time its the latter
CAFC would be delighted to pay him £6k a week.
I'm told the real figure is terrifying.
Anything is possible with KM doing the deals.
£10k a week sounds like sort of salary he would expect, even without KM doing the negotiation.
Edit; I don't blame Sarr for getting the best deal he could and he's just had a reasonable season but we needed him to hit the ground running which he failed to do resulting in a season long loan away from the club.
Like I said - the figure I was reliably told is terrifying and yes, the lady doing the buying for us got this very wrong.
Add the two already mentioned figures together and you are there !
He's paid £43 million a year?
