He came in with high expectations and didn't live up to them. Had a decent cameo at Pompey away and was my MotM against Blackburn at home but other than that there was nothing I saw that convinced me he would be anything more for us than a squad player when s**t hits the fan.
If he does move on good luck to him, seems a nice chap and tried for us
Let's be honest, if you take out Marshall's last 5 games for us, no-one would give a shit.
Those final 5 games changed a lot of people's perception of Marshall
Good against Blackburn, good against Pompey, I thought he did a job against Shrewsbury in the league game but wasn't particularly special, what two am I missing?
Defensively he was incredible in the 3 games you mention. One against Blackburn, (I think), where he tracked back 50 yards and made block that Richard Rufus would be proud of.
Then again, that's not really why you sign wingers, sure it's a bonus, but he really hasn't impressed much going forward.
Yes but as others have clearly stated MM would most likely do a job at RB next season. Solly may have his op and come back all guns blazing but that remains to be seen. If he doesn't and Konsa gets sold too then that leaves us with Dijksteel who is an incredible prospect too but ultimately players with the attitude and determination that MM has shown are few and far between. To even have him as cover would make sense.
Let’s face it he’s a little bit taller than @AFKABartram and a little bit shorter than me . Got decent feet, bit of swerve on the run but decreasing pace post injury.
Also seems to have pissed off bowyer or JJ or both given he was properly dropped while fit despite being a good option.
Unless there is a real personal issue that has meant he has to be at home, him leaving would not be surprising at all.
Gave the ball away in last years play off final that led to the scum goal and promotion for the pondlife rivals . Was always a NO from me , never forget or forgive those sort of mistakes

I don't disagree. I think this is one where it's hard because it's so early in the summer we don't know what our squad will look like. We could recruit one specialist right back plus another central midfielder who can cover at right back and a center back who can cover at right back, plus another specialist left back and a left midfielder who can play there meaning that more cover at fullback isn't really needed (he could cover left back too, I actually think he looks stronger on his left foot).
But I don't know how thrilled he would be to be kept around as fullback cover or as just a squad player.
Reading between the lines it would seem that he threw a wobbly at not being in the starting line up for the run in and playoffs and shot his mouth off maybe? This eventually led to him not even being in the squad. It must be said he was something of a disappointment and speaking for myself he won’t be missed that much. This is just my opinion based on something I’ve heard.
He should've started though.
And done what? Especially in the second leg. He would be a decent League 1 winger if we had others around him who could create, and I think he was unlucky to miss out in the first leg to help protect the RB, but when we needed to go for it in the second leg then I don't believe he should have started
Is his name Kaikai? On that basis, give him game time.

To me this suggests Bowyer will be in charge next season which is sensible, will mean he will know what he is not needed (Marshall) and what is needed for the squad.
Hard to know what affect the injury had on him, but it says a lot about his performances for us that the one that has drawn most praise was his defensive contribution vs Blackburn. He was excellent in that game and rightly got the plaudits, but he's been pretty unimpressive in attack whenever I've seen him play, and his lack of goals and direct assists tells a story there.
I'm in agreement with those who think he'd have potential as a converted full-back - I think we have really lacked any kind of attacking drive from that position either from Solly's tired old knees, or Konsa and Dijksteel who aren't naturals in that role. I think that particularly hurt us when Reeves was on the right as he needed someone who could overlap him more, and made us too reliant on playing down the left. You look at the way someone like Nathan Byrne played for Wigan this year (such a shame we couldn't make that one a permanent deal), I think having someone on the right more equivalent to what JDS and Page offered on the left could've made a big difference.
However, Marshall was signed as a winger and I don't doubt he's always been trying his best, but it really hasn't happened for him. Maybe a proper pre-season would help him next year, but if this helps us keep someone like Fosu, then it's bye-bye Mark every time.
Flattered to deceive. He always wanted the ball played to his feet whilst standing still.....I was taught to let the ball do the work. Too many times Konsa or Dijikstel would almost be running into him as he wouldn't move without the ball. His crossing was poor & the less said about his shooting the better....his debut goal in the FA Cup was going nowhere before getting a big deflection.
I can only assume that Bowyer saw all this too as he was pretty much left out once KR left.
oh, and he was in the Bradford team that lost to Millwall in the play-off final.

Probably unlucky not to start in the Play-Off games but to me like Reeves has been a big disappointment. I can only hope that the ownership issue is near to being settled as the squad looks wafer thin at the moment.

Wasn't he Bradfords player of the year?
Makes you wonder , how shit must the rest of them have been?
I don't see Marshall leaving. No championship club will want him & no league one club will match what we're paying him.
I'm sure there's plenty of Charlton players who are 'free to leave'.....Ajose, Sarr come to mind straight away. The problem is that no one at our level will be able to compete with the contracts they are on at Charlton (so we're stuck with them until their contracts expire).
so 2 of KR's "rebuilding" have shown to be flops (Reeves & Marshsll)
well done you fat scouse chancer..
Yeah Fosu, Amos, JDS, Page and JFC are all shit aswell.
One of KR's best attributes was his ability to spot a decent player. And how many on here though Marshall and Reeves were poor signings last year?
Amos & JDS are loanees so don't really count. JFC is ok, but as a profesional sportsman who trains every day his set pieces are next to useless. If he was a professional golfer whose tee shots regularly didn't make the fairway then he woukdn't earn a living.
Out of all the permanent players he brought in only Fosu & Clarke could be called success. Page is half decent but not see enough of him to judge sufficiently.

It's not to say they want to or we want rid of them, or that they won't breach a contract...
But they can leave.
Isn't he on the wicket?

I don’t think it is any coincidence that his best performance for us was against Blackburn when he played left midfield.
