SUNDERLAND AWAY 2018/19

Living there cannot do wonders for their mood either, if you live in Sunderland. Durham is very nice.killerandflash said:
Supporting Sunderland and Durham must be pretty grim, considering the disastrous last couple of years for both clubs.thai malaysia addick said:I don’t know if this helps but I met some Sunderland supporters at the Sussex v Durham cricket match today. They told me that with Grand Central Rail you can get a day return direct that gets you there in time for the game for £70.

yes really .. an article in the Times last week outlined the financial mess that Sunderland FC is still in .. as with most/many? takeovers all is not quite as rosy as the vendor and purchaser's PR people make outLargeAddick said:

If we absolutely stink out the Stadium of Light, then I'll be travelling no further than Scunthorpe for future away games until we drastically improve. But let's start on a positive tone.
Despite everything, I am confident(ish) that we can put out the Black Cats lights on day one. Sunderland is a great club in even more disarray than us at present.
The last game I went to when we were away on the opening day in the great north east was at Middlesbrough in the year of Lords Mendonca and Llewellyn, 1997/98. We were unlucky to lose 2-1 to a last minute Ravenelli goal. And who did we beat in the Wembley play off that year ? .. positive omen time .. I got my mojo working
I'm looking forward to seeing some old mates and some not so old ones in early August .. Come on youse Addicks ((:>)0 -
There’s no doubt they’ll finish above us , no matter what shit state of a club they are , we are top trumps in the wankiest club stakes3

Image....our 1st game
A packed out stadium of light....with us addicks filling up the away end....everyone in the ground singing footballs coming home.
we won the world cup.
goosebumps thinking about it

Coming down from Sunny Glasgow straight from Work on Friday, staying in Newcastle. Bringing two Sweaty's with with me. The one benefit for getting to some Charlton games is train fairs to Northern games are cheaper than coming from London, paid around £22 return.2

any idea when tickets go on sale for this one imagine will be a huge allocation which we wont need0
-
Struggling to get there so will just have to watch this on the telly...0
-
Probably a small allocation (which can be increased if necessary) so that we can be allocated a smaller part of the ground (saving on stewarding and cleaning costs etc)palarsehater said:any idea when tickets go on sale for this one imagine will be a huge allocation which we wont need

Already got my hotel and train tickets booked, just need to get the match tickets now.
Hopefully they go on sale soon as it’s only around 3 weeks away now. Any idea how they will go on sale too, I am guessing ST holders and Valley Gold first but should reach general sale no worries... right?0 -
i hope so as im on the 7.30 out of kings cross meaning a 6.03 from barnehurst quick dump off bags in toon then metro or train to sunderland ( any lifers with a bit better info on whats best would be welcomed ) after the match quick shower and then have a night out in newcastle, havent done a stopover since THAT game against sheffield utd.Sage said:Already got my hotel and train tickets booked, just need to get the match tickets now.

There will be about 20,000 empty seats. I think you'll get in. I must admit I've changed my mind & reckon we'll only take about 500.Sage said:Already got my hotel and train tickets booked, just need to get the match tickets now.

New owner - 1500, maybe a few more
Old owner - 650 or less. Everyone in the stadium gets a row to themselves, and we can all sit in silence marveling at the fact that over 77,000 fans from these two clubs once shared a stadium.2 -
I am heading up on the Friday and back on the Saturday due to working on the Sunday morning.palarsehater said:

Train up from Kings Cross early afternoon, and train back from Sunderland around 5:30, having some food after the game has finished, watch the scores come in of the rest and train down.
Looks as though they have a shopping centre right next to Sunderland station so that could be handy.0 -
Was wondering about allocation and how many they would give us more than actual getting in due to amount of empty seats around the stadium.Covered End said:

With it being on Sky and early kick off, I can’t see too many wanting to go up.0 -

I'm on the same train back @Sage , and also going up on Friday, but to stay with the great nephew of a good friend of Jimmy Seed's, who's going to show me around Whitburn, JS's home town (on Saturday morning).Sage said:

Check out the Mackems squad .. not many household names there to overworry about .. except Cattermole who likes to crack an opponents limb or two 'early doors'
