I really hope he gets back to fitness soon. Partially for the goals, but mostly just because I really like him as a player, and I've generally been impressed when he's spoken publicly but his Twitter fishing is getting quite annoying now. I'm starting to see him as a bit of a twat so some well timed goals will hopefully set that right.

He is suchhhhhh a prat on twitter lol. Loves to dish it out but cannot take it at all.

Massively condescending with his politics comments too. OK mate you earn more money then the rest of us and you’re a Tory. No issue. Not the philosophy I would quite take in his situation but whatever, just don’t be so aggressive with it on twitter for Christ sake.
You do realise that not everyone that doesn't want to vote for Corbyn is a Tory right? I wouldn't vote for him if you paid me and I'm also not a Tory.

With Taylor injured I would be shocked if we get even 1/2 what we were offered for him in the Summer window. Frankly, at his age, unless we get £1.5M at the minimum I would rather keep him and let him walk at the end of the season. We need his goals more than transfer money, especially since it all goes to RD’s pocket anyway.

Quite often when I’ve read some of his tweets I’ve come away thinking what a knob.

Agreed! I love the man for what he’s done for the club, but sometimes his tweets makes me cringe a bit. I think it’s arrogance, which in a striker is essential - in a random bloke though it makes me want to punch him 😂
  • Interesting to compare Taylor’s thoughts on tax payment to those of Tony Watt who has also tweeted about the subject. Slight difference in opinion.

I don’t know if he has anyone advising him but if there is , they should tell him give the twitter baiting a miss . It’s cringeworthy. Stick to getting fit Lyle and keep the political nonsense to yourself.

    From OS:

With the absence of Lyle Taylor, due to injury, Bonne has filled in but is looking forward to the return of his possible strike partner.

“I haven’t played with him yet but training wise he loves the attention around him, he likes people to know he’s about. He loves it here and everyone loves him here. If you can do that at the club and be the big dog, it's great. I enjoy training with him and I can’t wait to play with him.” Bonne explained.

I'll summarise. Taylor is a "look at me" kinda guy.
Pink hair, who'd a thought it ?

Spot on I’ve never understood why a tweet planning on taxing the 150 billionaires in the country would enrage normal folk, odd, I mean you’re allowed to not like Corbyn (which includes me to an extent) but even that policy is hard to turn your nose up at.
  • I'm not on twitter, facebook etc but to me if you don't like what people write or how they come across why follow them.

It's a bit like watching a TV programme so you can be outraged after.

I like that Lyle doesn't blandly filter what he says online. If people have an issue with that then it's their problem not his.

Lyle said in an excellent interview over the summer that he's always been out spoken and a bit controversial

He mentioned that even he realised it wasnt acceptable and potentially hindered his career in the early stages as it gave him (unfairly) a bad name - Now he's a senior player he feels differently which is fair enough

As you say, if people have issues with his views then thats their problem not his!!... Dont like it, dont read it, simple

Same with this post, dont like what I've said then ignore it - I'll do the same with others on here rather than feel the need to get into an pointless and no doubt pathetic argument

I don't follow Taylor but about 4 or 5 people I follow do, so I get all his content anyway as Twitter seems to enjoy throwing me posts by people who my follows follow, if you follow. So I can't help but feel motivated to respond ;)

Taylor is not owning anyone on Twitter, he is not responding or debating to anyone just spouting out Sun level right wing main stream media - I am alright Jack stuff - from a privileged footballers wage.

As a striker, I understand that he has a big ego and is a big character. A great footballer. I really can do without that Twitter crap.

Maybe take up some other constructive thing to fill the time - a bit of studying.

I've also had Taylor's opinions on women and trans people broadcast into my feed. Has made me considerably more relaxed about the prospect of him being transferred

(I still, for the record, think he talks very well about race and football, and think he's generally a great asset to the club who should probably wind it in and stop picking fights with Megan Rapinoe etc - I want him here, but stop tweeting ffs!)
  • I think it’s great that a footballer has a bit of personality online and doesn’t just post the usual meaningless media-trained platitudes.

Yeah, that's why I still follow Tony Watt :D
  • Lyle Taylor is perfectly entitled to his political opinions as indeed is every other person on the planet. Quite why however you would choose to use a 140 byte mechanism to enunciate such views probably says considerably more about the individual concerned than anything about the politics involved.

Soundbite politics defines the world today. It is no accident it is the vehicle of choice the POTUS.

In other words nearly all noise and precious little substance.

I wish Lyle well in his recovery in returning to the field of play.

Tony Watt - typical Labour voter. Lazy and expects everything to be handed to him... :-)

    (I'm joking, by the way)
