If redhenry is right then Taylor has wasted what, 10 days, he could have been getting fit. Declared himself willing to play for 3 games, starting in a week's time, which he will be unlikely to be ready for, has already said in an interview he would be scared of getting injured in and has already pissed off his team mates. Thanks Lyle.
Assume his agent pointed out to him he would not get paid his last month salary if he was simply on strike for it and this is purely money related.
Maybe 3 more days Lyle , come on wouldn’t want to see that scummy club that ditched you make the Premiership at the same time we head in to League One would you ?

Either that or he doesnt have a new club yet and this behaviour is putting teams off
Could it be a ruse to keep Hull guessing on our line up? Wouldn't put it past our management team. Wishful thinking but not beyond the realms of possibility, been done before with injuries that have cleared up overnight 😲.
Which do you think is more likely?
1. Bowyer and Nixon are colluding to keep Hull guessing. 2. Nixon is spouting absolute rubbish.
Farnell possibly feeding this Nixon fella stories to keep us entertained and increase the chance that our Knight In Shining Armour will ride into the Valley but not via Woolwich with a bit of luck...
pwr he trained yesterday and is playing until the 30th
That makes some sense - he wants to get paid for June I suppose, and then his contract runs out so will bog off.
I also suspect he wouldn't shirk away from responsibility if he was to play despite what he said about "not being the same player". He's a mercenary, but he's a mercenary worth his salt.
On balance, probably a good thing - as long as it's addressed properly in training with the lads. I think Lyle is a smart enough person to read the room and acknowledge when he's in the wrong.
My heart says it’s too late for Lyle to make a u-turn and he should do one now. My head knows that he’s out best player and our chances of survival are increased if he plays (even for three matches) and puts a shift in.
If true it'll be interesting to learn who made him have a change of heart if that's what happened. My best guess is that it was a combined effort from Bowyer and Jacko and on that basis Taylor's head ought to be in the right place. Fingers crossed and we shall see.
I'll go with whatever team Bowyer decides on. If Taylor starts v Hull fair enough, if not and he comes on late and nicks a goal that'll do for me also. If he warms the bench all game no issues either.
Nothing to do,with the fact that the club have told him he is in breach of contract as he Chalton player until the 30th June, therefore no wages this month,Oh hang on I.will sit around and come in until the 30th. Hope Pearce gives him a tackle in training for him mates and fans
Do people seriously believe he’s ‘gonna put a shift in’ and potentially scupper his next move
this is all about damage limitation for his image etc.
tell him thanks but no thanks, Bonne is desperate to play clearly - imagine how he’s gonna feel if he’s benched for Taylor
Bonne is gonna be here next season...
I trust Bowyer to pick his strongest team, If he decides that Taylor is up for it and picks him, then our team is stronger. And we need to win.
It's one thing being fit. It's another being willing to go fully committed into every challenge. And whether it is consciously or sub consciously that will undoubtedly be the case. Equally, each and every time Taylor doesn't win one or is deemed to be half hearted by fans he will get even more abuse than he is at the moment - even if that will be remotely via social media.
Taylor has made his decision. This wouldn't have been an overnight one either. Bowyer needs to use it to his advantage, thank the players for being so committed to the cause and ask them to give 110% to make up for those who have chosen not to battle for our survival.
If Taylor’s only playing until the 30th it’s only so he gets his pay cheque and he doesn’t ruin his ‘image’. His heart won’t be in it, and the players will know that. I’d rather have no Taylor than a Taylor who’s only giving 50% and ruining the team morale
There's a lot of raw feelings in this thread but if he plays until the 30th then I'm delighted. I reckon Taylor is worth 2-3 goal in the three games he would play. If he helps us beat Hull, QPR and Cardiff (three wins in a row? Never) then it'll be absolutely worth it. If he scores even a single goal for us though it will be a goal that goes towards us not getting relegated. He's our best player.
To be honest, despite what he says I don't think Lyle knows how to play half speed. A defender will say something to him ten minutes in and he'll spend the rest of the game throwing himself about just to get one up on the bloke.I think if we get Lyle we'll get a Lyle who wants to score, and I'll take that

Agree with this, will be very happy to have him back if its what he decides. Bowyer obviously has great man management skills and he will manage the situation correctly for betterment of the team whatever the mindset of Taylor.
Bowyer wont pick him, or keep him on the pitch if he's not committed, If Taylor is up for it, and Bowyer thinks he will add to the team then he will pick him.I would imagine Bowyer would be able to spot a player not putting a shift in, and may have a few quiet gentle motivating words. Let Bowyer decide what his strongest team, all else is irrelevant at this time.

let the players who actually want to play for us play
TAYL OF THE UNEXPECTED

Not interested mate. Do one.

Taylor in his first contact session in training will be a waste of time....

Bless you my child.
He doesn't have a life.
He quite clearly absolutely hates Charlton and pretty much has done since day one.
The deadline day table of loads of snacks was him basically attempting to laugh AT us.
What did charlton actually ever do to him?
